I loved that present probably more than any I ever got! Still have the machine as back up 38 years later!

    Enjoy your new machine!
Jean, that is so nice story! My husband could care less. It was a good excuse for him to be able to get a tonneau cover for his truck..."I allowed her to buy this machine, now I can get my cover!"...kind of thing. I dont' care. I got it! I have NEVER spent this much money on myself, muchless for anything just for me that isn't house hold necessity!

Gramma - Thanks for the info! Then name, although wasn't a issue of any kind.. I don't care the name, just how it works...but.. my grand daughter's name is Ashleigh..and she is the one that is alot like me and wants to sew and do crafts. I taught her how to make a lap charm quilt and she zipped through it like crazy! Then another one a few months later! So, it was nice the name is there for the memory too! But then again, maybe God is sending me a message. I have n't been able to see her in some time due to bickering adults...maybe this is God's way of telling me..."hold on, she'll be back!" LOL!

Thanks everyone for your comments and congrats! I am so happy with the purchase. I pick it up today. Glad to hear so many good things about Brother. Makes me feel good about my choice! I often have buyers remorse...thinking "what if..." or "was it the right one".. etc. So I appreciate the cheers! I'll post some pics and let you all know how it works! Right off I am going to like it as is quiet. That Pfaff was so loud and my Singer is almost as loud especially with the walking foot! That alone is a huge plus! Thanks everyone!

Just FYI if anyone "cares"...they have discontinued this model because Laura Ashley died. I know her from first her bedroom sheets etc, then she went to scrapbooking where i was at the time, and I didn't even know she was into sewing machines! But...the family pulled her name from the line so ...I don't know..do I have a "hold on to it forever as it will be worth something because she was a great designer"? hum.... don't really care, I'll have it till I die and bequeath it to my grand daughter and she wont' sell it cause it was mine! LOL!! But just thought I'd mention she died.. incase anyone was interested. The guy said that instead of just taking her name off the machine, Brother made a new one to replace this one and just added a few more things to it. That model was $3000!
