My Grandma died this past May, and we are just now able to get her house ready to put up for sale. We started going through stuff yesterday, and we came across a bunch of quilting stuff. We found this bag FULL of quilt blocks that are already pieced together. Upon looking at the blocks, most of them were pieced by hand. My Mom said that these would have been pieced by my great-great Aunt Emmy, who was mostly blind, and all she did was piece quilt blocks. Somebody else would always finish the quilt. My Grandma got these blocks at some point, but never got around to putting them together. I have a feeling she may have gotten them after Aunt Emmy died. So, my project is to VERY carefully wash them, because they've been sitting in a bag in my Grandma's closet for so long, they smell. They all have to be squared up and then put together! It's going to be an amazing project to do!! I will put something on that says that it was pieced by Aunt Emmy and put together by her great-great niece. I will then take it to our family reunion to show everybody. I'm not sure how long this will take me to do, but it will be exciting!
