    Default Glue on fabric

I was making the half hexi Christmas table runner and when I added the heat n bond to my star some of the glue got on my iron. I didn't realize this and then ironed the top of the runner. I now have a small spot of black glue on the top of the table runner. Does anyone have an idea to get this off the fabric?
    Thanks

I was hoping someone would have answered your question because I'd like to know the same thing. I have done very little applique, but I'm about to applique a bunch of things for neighbor gifts and am quite sure this will happen to me. I'll keep watching!

I would try using a dry press cloth and a steam iron. Place a clean piece of cotton cloth that is white or a piece of muslin over the glue. Hold your steam iron over the glue not setting the iron down. Steam for a few seconds. Remove the press cloth and see if you can gently roll the glue off or scrape it off with your fingernail or a butter knife. The key is to get the glue softened without melting it further into the fabric and gently remove it. I always use a press cloth when ironing appliques on to fabric. You can clean the glue off your iron with a dryer sheet or iron cleaner.

Just what I was about to say, but you said it much more understandable.

Try to put the table runner in the freezer. Glue can be like chewing gum and gets hard in the freezer. Use the tip of your seam ripper or a pair of tweezers or maybe a knife, what you think will work and gently try to roll/scratching it off.

    Good luck
