    Default So sad

Received an email from one of my LQS, they will be closing. It is my go to shop for nice fabrics, help and classes. I will miss them sooo much. Such a big loss for all the quilters in the area.

    That is sad.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Don't like to see the locals going out of business.

Owning a business is a huge responsibility that literally becomes your life. ( Ask me how I know this?) It is not all fun and games for sure and is not for everyone. Even if a business owner is financially successful, the emotional drain of less than pleasant customers and lack of personal time off becomes too much sometimes. Hopefully, someone else will buy the store and continue offering quilters in your area a great place to shop.

Yes it is sad. While we all enjoy the variety and yes often lower prices that we can get at online sites.... if we don't support the locals, they won't be there. Yes, the locals can be a little more expensive than an online warehouse... but if the difference isn't extravagant and you can find what you like locally -- do so or they won't be there when you need them!
