Default Does wrinkling denote quality of cotton?

I bought some Quilters Preimum (I think that was the name of it) today. It is there all the time, a small line.. and always $4.99 a yard. I have never seen it on sale. So since it was the only regular priced fabric to use my 4, 50% off coupons on.. I got some. It felt "thick" as does Calico Keepsakes and Legacy Studio that I buy all the time. I washed it and it wrinkled ALOT! I steamed it and ironed and all, and it came out fine, but the other cottons I buy don't wrinkle near that much.
I know 100% cotton wrinkles and all, but was wondering...does the amount of wrinkle (out of the dryer) have anything to do with the quality of the cotton? More threads, more wrinkles? Less thread, more wrinkles?

I find that to be true with high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets; they wrinkle like crazy the first few times you wash them, but eventually they seem to learn how to behave. (And get soft!)

OH yeah... didn't think about sheets. I just did buy some high thread count sheets this summer and complain about the wrinkles every time I put them on the bed! I guess that means good quality? I have never bought this brand as the line is small and usually I don't like the prints (I guess I am stuck on Calico Keepsakes!) and the colors are the generic colors (only color out of the normal is teal!) But for $2.50 I thought it was worth a chance..they couldn't be that bad! Glad I bought them...for now. I'll use them next week and see how it goes!

I think that cheap fabric tends to wrinkle more than high quality. Think about cheesecloth, wrinkles like crazy.

Batiks always come out of the dryer pretty wrinkle free so I think high quality wrinkles less. IMHO
