Doubts about pillow size, I'll ask here for an advice

Dear friends (I feel like I can already call you like this )
I was sewing together a Winter Holiday-ish quilting thing for a last minute gift for a friend in Minnesota, when I realized I was on the verge to make a mistake!
Here in Italy a common size for common pillows (like the ones you put on the couch for example) is 40x40cm, which is 15,7x15,7 inches.
I'm sewing a winter themed pillow and I was going with the Italian measures but then I realized (since I'm sending it folded and without the inside, I hope it will arrive earlier and safer in this way) I should make it in US common measures otherwise my friends will have difficulties finding the filling!

Can you help me?

I think you are good with what you have. We have 14" and 16" pillow forms here and maybe even 15", but the 16" would work well. I like my forms to fit somewhat tight so the cover is nice and filled.

I did a quick search on Joann's. I'm assuming you're talking about pillow forms. Looks like there are 16 x 16" and 18x18". Other sizes also. Maybe someone else knows if you would make the pillow cover exactly that size.

Not all Walmarts still have sewing dept's . I'm lucky mine kept part of one. Show pictures when your done!

Ideally the pillow form is a little larger than the finished dimensions of the cover. Your friend should be fine with 16 inch forms, which are available in the US.

Surely I'll post a pic afterwards! A few years ago when I made one for my husband I made it exactly of the same size 'cause I liked it very tight, but a little larger is a good advice, thanks
