What batting do you use.
I have been using warm and natural. But it has no weight to it. I want a little bit of warmth to the quilt

I use wool batting when I want an extra warm quilt. The Hobbs wool batting is very nice, very warm but not heavy or too thick to quilt through. I quilt on a long arm so I'm not sure if it would be difficult on a regular machine.

I used to use Warm and Natural but several years ago switched to Quilter's Dream cotton in Request weight. I love that! I did use Pellon cotton batting off a roll at Joann's and loved that a lot. It took three times to get a piece though. The first two times the middle of the batting had large grease (?) spots so I had to return it.

I almost always use warm & natural
For two quilts I doubled up the warm & natural for extra warmth.

I use Hobbs 80/20 for everything. I have one quilt done with Warm & Natural (LAQer used it), & I think the quilt is very heavy.
Warm & Natural because it allows me to quilt up to 10" apart. I can always quilt closer, if I choose.
I've used Warm and Natural, Quilter's Dream Cotton, and Quilter's Dream Poly Select. I prefer the Quilter's Dream over W&N. The Poly Select makes a warm quilt that's not too heavy or bulky.

I really hate it when the voices in my head argue among themselves as though I wasn't even in the room.

Uh oh! I just bought some Pellon cotton batting. I better open it up and see if it is okay.
No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart.
I use Hobbs 80/20 almost exclusively and love it. Its not too heavy ,but very warm.
