Just thought I'd pass it on...Connecting Threads has thread 40% off threads. ($1.67 spools and $3.59 cones) I just stocked up for the year! 100% cottons and I bought some 100% poly this time too as in recent discussions I have learned that it is good for FMQ'ing in the bobbin and being a thinner thread..helps with seam-bulk! I stocked up for the year! Plus...6 sets of 5" charms under $1 each and 2 cake layers of same is $3.97 ea.

I just learned alot here about shrinking charms and such, so I bought some... and this time I will make the HST's FIRST then... pre wash them and see how that works as far as reducing the shrinkage in the final quilt. I learned that charms shrink 1/2 in one way and 1/4 inch the other way. Seems to me if you want a specific size quilt and are using charms.. you have to do additional math to add charms to compensate for this....so... to make less complicated, seems if I sew them ...then shrink them...then make the quilt top...then the final wash....(hopefully) they shouldn't shrink anymore! I'll see and let you know!!! My new years resolution is going to be to conquer this "charming frustration" - but stay in my budget!

So...$65 and I am stocked for the year in thread and 6 charm packs and 2 cake layers and I am a happy camper.. I mean quilter!
