I think sashing would be key!!
The thing that is throwing my eyes off is in the hour glass blocks, one of them has a lot more red than the others, so I would either balance it buy putting more red into other blocks, or I would use that block for something else... Like a cute tote bag!
Would something like this work ?

That darker sashing adds a lot to your design. I agree with many others that mentioned needing more contrast in your mix of fabrics. That is sometimes hard to find in shirts. Around here they seem to be lighter blue or else that is what I have been drawn to buy.
Take out the block with all the red. No don't use yellow for sashing. You will be sorry. You could experiment with sashing that has a tiny little print in it like some of the civil war print lines. That sometimes actually pulls things together in a different way than a solid sashing.
I think sashing between the blocks is what it needs. That bottom hourglass block with the red plaid fabric is screaming...PUT ME IN THE MIDDLE!
I still want to see what it looks like with red sashing :)
I think putting the block with a lot of red in the middle and sashing with red would be awesome!
