    Default Bad stitches :-(

    Hi

It turned out that my black singer 160 is Not fixed after all.

I came home and happily started to sew on my block parts.

Here are some pictures on the resultat.

Not fun!! I will be on the phone to the repair guy first thing in the morning.

What do you think ? I am thinking that the bobbin thread is to thight.

Am I on the right track ?

As far as I can see the top thread loops on the backside of the pice that I am sewing on.

    Help!

if the stiches are to loose or wonky on the back its your top if the stiches are wonky on front its your bottom tension , try rethreading and then on your tension knob if that does not fix it turn it to higher no see if that makes better or worse if worse go to lower no. I hope that will resolve it for you . nothing more frustrating than tension

Was the tension off when you took it to him to fix? It looks like the top tension disks aren't controlling the top tension correctly. That part of this design of tension to me is the weak part of these machines. There is no adjusting it. It looks as if the tension is being let loose every few inches. Yes, you need to call him.

Try re threading and use a test fabric to see when this loose stitching is happening. Make sure you show the repair man your samples.

I would agree with Jean. Didn't they send a test swatch of stitches to show you it was working properly? They do that with mine when it's in for just a checkup and cleaning.

I have been working on my black singer for the weekend trying to get it to behave.

It will sew fine for a while then it will act up again with loops on the underside and the bobbin thread like a pencil line on the underside.

I will probably end up taking it back to the repair man. sniff...
