If the seller was advertising the pack as a brand, like Moda, then it was false advertising and you should get a refund.

However, we have locals who sell stuff on Ebay like this - they go to thrift stores, garage sales, ask friends for any fabric, and put it up as a Charm pack. If that was what the seller did, you still deserve a refund, but it wasn't advertised as a brand or quality. That word MAY is a caveat of sorts.

Since you can't use it to quilt with, and if you can't return it, cut the charms up into 2 1/2 squares and maybe some HSTs. You can play with layout for a quilt pattern without sacrificing any of your "good" fabric. Also smaller pieces good to practice some stitching techniques.

Some none-traditional places are OK. Amazon does list brands, and if the seller is wrong, Amazon deals with it. Etsy probably well policed, too.

Awww sweetie, so sorry you had to have this experience. Most sellers are reputable and want their customers to be happy. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will make this right for you. We do learn from our mistakes, so try not to get too down on yourself about it, ok.

    Patricia,
Contact the seller through ebay. All communication will be visible to ebay. If the seller doesn't make it right, ebay/paypal will. I once bought a book, which the seller never shipped...and they did not respond to me. Paypal reimbursed me immediately and went after the seller.

i experienced some similar experiences with e-bay and fabric so I quickly realized that was not a place to shop for fabric unless it is a brand/quality you know about.
Touching the fabric makes all the difference in the world.

As for the fabric you purchased on E-bay, I'm sorry you have had a bad experience. I would contact the seller and tell them it was not as described and ask for a refund. If the seller refuses, then contact E-bay and they will make it right.

I look forward to seeing your work, please post pics and let us know how it is going. If you run into a problem post a description and a pic and you will be surprised at how quickly solutions will begin to pop up.
Thank you for the nice welcome. I did contact the buyer but I just accepted the squares and I told him how I felt ... I have the squares laid out already and I finally have them in the order I like.

Thanks Claire for the response. Yeah I found that out the hard way. Thank goodness I didn't spend much on the squares.

Thanks sonbird857 - I only paid about $5 but it is a lesson learned. I contacted the seller and well, we had a "heart to heart" via message. I won't fall for that again.

Thank so much Over40momma - I learned and won't buy again. I did find one buyer that I purchased from and the squares were thick and not paper thin.

Thanks for the advice Alpha O - I will be more careful next time I know that. Some of the squares might be usable in some way or another but the rest are junk.
