Default Is my new sewing room jinxed?

I have pulled out more quilting stitches today than ever! My newly serviced machine keeps skipping stitches. I've redone everything twice. Help! Should I assume it's me or did they screw it up when they cleaned it? Should I quit for the day and come back when I'm less frustrated or persevere until I get it right? I'm using nice new fabric top and back and the loveliest batting ever, Quilter's Dream. I had a small piece left over so I'm using it for this cute little charity baby quilt. I was hoping to show you the finished quilt today! Instead I might show you the smashed sewing machine after I throw it out the window.

Hey Cyndi........do you think the needle might have something wrong with it.........maybe they changed it while working on the machine. As you know.......in most cases of extreme frustration it's best to walk away......at least for a little while. We don't want to see a picture of you mangled machine on the ground!

If it keeps skipping call the shop and ask about it. Good luck.

I rethreaded bobbin and top thread but did not change the needle. I'll try it. Plus the chocolate. That can't hurt, can it?

Chocolate can only help........................unless you get it all over your quilt project!

I'm hoping it was the reorganization, Cyndi. I finally got to sit down at my machine this morning and stitched out a large embroidery piece - and when I took it off the hoop noticed that the back looks like a rat's nest. Wonder if they changed the needle - I should have changed it before I started . . .
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Ah, the quilt is quilted. I rethreaded, changed the needle, had some chocolate and lowered the stitch speed. I never think of that. For some reason I keep it on high and today I put it down to low. It really helped. Maybe the machine just felt a little off kilter because of the new room. We're both getting used to having lots of space! The binding is made and just needs to be sewn on, so I'm almost ready to show off the first creation from my new sewing room.

Cyndi, some days are diamonds........ugh! It was most likely the chocolate that realigned the universe! LOL, glad it all worked out for you. Days like that, I put everything up, and go read a book for about two hours w/cuppah tea, makes me settle and do an "ommmmmmm!". Can't wait to see your new creation!

When my Pfaff starts making those loops on the back, it is a sure sign that there is fuzz or thread caught in the upper tension disks. I take a piece of folded fabric and put the folded edge between the upper disks and "floss" between them. This usually dislodges anything that is between the disks. This may be just a Pfaff quirk...but it worked for me. Another thought...when you are threading the machine and put the thread between the upper tension disks, your presser foot should always be up....then you can put it down to thread the needle.
