Sooo... how's everybody's Saturday going?
I had a great Saturday and I was able to take my newly acquired Pfaff to the dealer for a good once over and to have the embroidery unit looked at. I went fabric and sewing trinket shopping at a couple of shops here and treated myself to a Bobbin porcupine ( this thing is too darn cute!) a box of Wonderfil thread and misc other notions. I topped it all of with a BBQ brisket sandwich from Arby's. Today my friends was a great day. No hurry and no worry. I hope everyone else had a great start to their weekend as I did. AND I was able to do it all by myself- no kids- no hubs and no grandkids.
Now I'm off to make some burp cloths and loving gaze at my new box of thread. :D
Re: Sooo... how's everybody's Saturday going?
Sounds like a great Saturday to me! I worked on finishing a top, then sandwiching. Tonight I'll keep after the FMQ, fingers crossed here. Visited with a dear friend, junked and got really lucky, found the low bureau I wanted. DH is cooking dinner (yeah, that means dagwood sandwiches and soup y'all ;) HA! But still grateful he's willing! Plans tomorrow for emptying the entire room, rearranging it and getting all my new cubbies, shelves, ironing station and track lighting in.................some weekends are just diamonds, this day certainly has lent itself well to that saying! Tonight is the new Cap America movie, yep, popcorn and all, WOOT!
Re: Sooo... how's everybody's Saturday going?
I worked on my EPP project while laying bed all day due to a miscarriage early this morning :(
And now everything is flooded outside. I'm in phoenix and our ground can't absorb all this rainwater as fast as it's coming down. Guess it's a good day to be stuck in bed.
Wish I had a new box of thread to lovingly gaze at! Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.

Lisa, so sorry. It's okay to be down. Lean on us all you'd like. You deserve to grieve however and how much as you need to.
Hugs,
Dolly

Littlelisa my thoughts and prayers are with you. Myself it has been a good day. I worked until 2 and that is when my weekend begins. I did get the binding finished on the last two place mats out of a set of six for my mother. Was able to finish those at work. Then when I got home I was able to finish quilting on a full size Irish Chain quilt. I also got all the blocks cut for the two quilts for my Grandsons Christmas gifts. Now tomorrow I will try to at least get one quilt top done and get the machine part of the binding done on the Irish Chain. Wishing all a restful evening.

I have my nights and days mixed up, sleep-wise, so I'm just getting started. I'm pressing and trimming up HSTs for a baby quilt, and making good progress. I am doubling my work, though, because I insist on finger pressing them before using the iron. Yep, I'm a weirdo with numb fingertips. :D
Sorry for your loss, Lisa. :(
Re: Sooo... how's everybody's Saturday going?
I had a great day at the Flights and Fantasies Quilt Show in CT. With the exception of the horrendous traffic we hit coming home, it was fantastic.

You're got more done in 1 day than I can get done in 2 weeks. I'm so jealous! I'm so glad to hear others are having a great day. I'm trying to stay positive, so tomorrow I'm going to have a great day, too!
Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers. They are very much appreciated.
Re: Sooo... how's everybody's Saturday going?
Aww Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear your news. My prayers go out to you and your family.
My Saturday was mostly spent pulling fabrics to make those large jelly roll bags for the teachers I work with for Christmas and a few others for close friends. Who can't use another bag that isn't plastic, huh? I'm not buying jelly rolls as I have loads of strips from a strip swap from about 2 years ago through my guild. I separated them into colorways and am just going to sew about 8 to 10 together to make the bags. I have plenty in my stash for linings so I won't have to spend a dime this year on all those gifts.
Anywho - while going through things, I found small paper-pieced snowbabies I had started to make my sister a small wall hanging out of many years ago. The pieces didn't go together very nicely so I sat and tried to get them to work today. Still, not 'show quality' so I think I will just sew all the little 9 pieces together and turn it into a bag for her. She will get more use out of it that way than hanging on her wall anyhow. I had bought 2 kits worth, one for her and one for me, and I thought these were mine until I texted her and asked her if I ever gave her any snowbaby quilt wall hangings. She said no. Darn, so these are hers. Anyhow, I will have a nice bag for her for Christmas. Since mine is not on my high list of priorities to get finished, I'll put it off to the side for another year if I ever do decide to do it. Paper piecing is not my kind of fun even though these blocks did turn out cute.
Suppose I should call it a day since I'll be home late from my Dad's tomorrow night.
Re: Sooo... how's everybody's Saturday going?
I'm so sorry Lisa.
We're having some bumpy times here in the road of life. Trying to work things out.
The little one found a kitty outside, she and him were frolicking in the yard, she even had him go to the back yard to play with her. I was heartbroken when we asked a neighbor and found out he was owned. Not meant to be. It's amazing how attached you can get to little furries.
Re: Sooo... how's everybody's Saturday going?
Lisa, I didn't see your post until after I posted a little while ago. I am so sorry. Hugs.
