New Tutorial from Jenny!
Last edited by Swedish leo; September 19th, 2014 at 02:47 AM.
God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Thanks for the link. Those are cute baby quilts.
I can program my Babylock to automatically lift the presser foot when I stop sewing. Great feature for doing applique. Saves a lot of time. I noticed that Jenny was having to do this manually.

Re: New Tutorial from Jenny!
Very exciting news, Renate! Make sure to show us what you make for the baby. Thanks, Annika, for announcing this Friday's tutorial. It's a bit fiddly using that material but it sure does make wonderful blankets. I wonder if we just used some yardage if we could get that zigzag look by adding jumbo rickrack. I wonder if it would look puckered since rickrack isn't stretchy? Do you think the "Self-Binding Baby Quilt" tutorial would work with Minkee? It might be worth a try.

Cute, quick and easy! I'm surprised that it wasn't quilted at all though. Would it hold together in the laundry that way?

I made a jean/minkee quilt a couple of years ago. All I did was tack it down with a decorative stitch in the center of each jean square. It has been washed several times and you can't even tell it. It was 6" jean squares on top and the minkee was sewn into strips for the back. I made it out of scraps so had to piece the minkee. Minkee holds up very well.

Congratulations on the new soon-to-be grandbaby Renate!
I love this minky blanket! I was wondering also about using ric-rac. Worth a try, I think.
