Default Shame on me. I shouldn't go into a quilting or sewing machine store unsupervised.

The sewing machine dealer I like to trade with had a Janome Memory Craft 8000 and offered me a pretty good price for it. I was supposed to pick it up today. I went to the dealership unsupervised, can we say BAD IDEA BOB!

He showed me a Bernina Deco 300. Both are used machines. He told me the Bernina is a 15-20 year newer machine. He showed me how easy it was to touch the screen and get what a I want the machine to embroider. He showed me that it would take much bigger hoops, and such.

Then he made me an offer that was just too good to pass by. He said he wanted to see me have the better machine. He said since I had already bought two machines from him in the last year he would make a deal for me.

He threw in $100 (retail price of embroidery thread), the bigger hoop, a box of extra bobbins and free classes to learn about it.

I just had to bring it home. I'm a bad Bob! But I'm hoping to be a Bob having fun!

(If all the pieces fit perfectly, people will think it was made by a machine!) LOL

    Karen,

Do you know something about me that I don't know? Enjoy it while you can sounds kind of final? LOL

LOL, wasn't meant that way. Might as well enjoy it while you got it. Was more thinking along the lines of "Why should my kid get what I have, I should spend it if I want to."

    Karen,

I was hoping that is what you meant. I remind people that I have never seen a hearse with luggage racks. I don't know how much I will use this embroidery machine, but I have wanted one to play with.

I have it in my mind to recreate a quilt that my great grandmother made many many years ago. It is a baby quilt. It is embroidered on the nine blocks. I think I will bring it to the retreat to see if anyone thinks it can be recreated.

Bob, Thank you for doing your bit to support the economy. We all need to shop and buy to support the American dream.

Hope you enjoy you new machine.

Bob, hope you are having fun...my DH was with me at Joann's 2 weeks ago and asked if I wanted the machine on sale. Saleslady lit up instantly, but I kept a cool head and said no I didn't want to make car payments again. LOL. His next question was did I want a longarm machine. I almost fainted. He then told me I could do quilts and sell them so he could retire.

Bad idea for him to go shopping with me. Karen, he says we should spend our children's inheritance while we have it.
