I finally found something on Craigslist !!

I usually don't find anything quilty on Craigslist that's not a long way from home. After seeing how Dolores finds so much good fabric there, I checked it again this morning. I found an ad for a Juki 2000 machine with a Grace frame at a good price in the next county. I contacted the seller by e-mail and, lo and behold, she is someone that I went to grade school and high school with!

I called her and we caught up on what each of us has been doing for the past 40+ years then I asked about the set. She said she ordered the machine and frame combo from Kathy's Quilting, but has never used them...never took the machine out of the box! She said she has post polio syndrome and it's getting too painful for her to stand or even sit and sew so she's selling the set. She dropped her asking price for me and is including some quilt tops for "practice" and some fabric from her sewing room. I'm going to look at them tomorrow with cash in my pocket. I'm driving the truck and, if all goes well, I'll have a quilting machine and frame for DH to assemble by this time tomorrow!

Good deal! I saw a Gammill 18/8 and frame on craig's list for $3250. It's in Colorado, but if I had a room big enough for the frame I'd sure make the trip for it. I just have no place to put a longarm frame.

Great deal I never see those deals either and I do hope you get it, but so sorry to hear she is dealing with the post polio I lost my eldest brother to this it was extremely painful and debilitating he just wasted away. Give her my good wishes and I will keep her in my prayers.

That sounds like a great price! If I get this frame and it doesn't fit in the sewing studio, I'll throw a room-sized rug on the basement floor and put it down there.

wow. Glad to hear someone found something. I don't find something everyday, but I just keep looking. Might look at a serger at the one I am going to on Thursday. If they don't want too much I might get it.
I have one, but I want another because I am too lazy to keep changing thread. Want one set up in white thread and another in black thread.

I'm so sorry about your brother. My ex-daughter in law's father had post polio and I saw how he got progressively worse too. This lady has had three surgeries in the past two years and is having knee surgery next week.
