I picked up the hexagon baby quilt from the state fair park today, and on the back of the ticket that was attached to it were the notes from the judges.
1) It was stunning
2) I needed to take more care in matching my star points (which I completely agree with)
3) Disqualified because I washed it first.

What the hell? I've read back through all the rules, and nowhere does it say anything about that. I've entered quilts before and they were washed. I can tell you that the quilts I've seen exhibited there were washed. The quilt mom entered a few years back that won the sweepstakes prize had been washed. I called the state fair park and asked to have someone from home arts call me. If I didn't win a ribbon because the other quilts were better, I'm ok with that. If I was disqualified up front because of some rule that isn't even listed anywhere, then I'm pissed off. I can guarantee I'll be calling them before I enter anything next year!

Has anyone else ever had this happen?
