    Default Five and Dime quilt

I bought the book Loose Change by Kansas Troubles Quilters from Amazon Prime and it arrived yesterday. I checked on the M order for my layer cakes and five and dime ruler and it was only printed. I was so excited today when I got an e-mail from M saying my order had shipped. That's pretty fast because Amazon Prime has two day shipping, and here my M order is right on its tail and included some cut yardage.

I bought the Shadows layer cake. I can't wait for it to get here because that is my next project. Good job, M. You've never failed me yet.

I just ordered the five and dime ruler that was a daily deal. I am excited to make a five and dime quilt, but I have never bought a layer cake. Have my eyes open for a good one, I have lots of charm packs to pick from to coordinate!

Question Re: Five and Dime quilt

A question from this newby tonight : Is it imperative to use pinked blocks in making the Five and Dime quilt? I bought the ruler for my early birthday this weekend, and wanted to start it as a " cheer me up " project for turning older, lol... I hope someone can help before I begin to cut fabrics I have..

I would say since you are sewing an 1/8 from the edge on the small squares it would be a good idea for them to be pinked. They sell pinking blades for rotary cutters if you don't have pinking shears.
