question about the Oliso Irons
Hubby gave me the go ahead to buy one, I am just wondering about the difference between the blue one at 1600 watts and $165 (CDN) and the yellow or pink at 1800 watts and $234 (CDN) I know both will burn my fingers equally as well. If you have one I would love to hear your thoughts???

Re: question about the Oliso Irons
I have one of each. To me they are equally great! Why do I have two? . . . Cause I keep the yellow one on the 2nd floor in my sewing room and the blue one stays in the basement where I spray baste and pin my quilts.

Re: question about the Oliso Irons
Have the yellow model. It took me a little while getting used to the fact that after ironing, I didn't have to stand the iron up - that I could just let go of it and it would pop up into place. Other than the learning curve on that, I love it.

Re: question about the Oliso Irons
I have the yellow one and it doesn't get hot enough to scorch fingers, even on the highest setting. It is hotter than warm to the touch after ironing fabric, but my $40 Tfal gets so much hotter and irons fabric better, especially after it comes out of the dryer. Forget the steam function, because it barely puts out any steam and you are constantly filling it up. The only thing that my Oliso does better than the Tfal is that it is really heavy and is better for ironing seams. Personally, I wouldn't buy an Oliso again. But I was in your place two months ago and I was determined that I had to have one. I hate it and wish I would have listened to the reviews. I thought if Jenny has it, then so must I. Luckily, I got an incredible deal on mine, but no way is it worth $234. Unless you enjoy picking up a heavy iron, that doesn't actually iron that well, so you still have to use your cheap iron to do the actual ironing.

Re: question about the Oliso Irons
I'd say yours might be defective then. Mine puts out steam, enough so that I have been burned by it. And I don't fill it anymore than I did my old iron. If you can, I'd return it and tell them you want a different one.
pat.

Re: question about the Oliso Irons
You could be right. I have read about the lack of heat issue on other reviews, so I thought it was normal. I was just glad that mine wasn't spewing water which is the other major complaint. I will call them this week and see what they say.

silliness, I think you have a defective Oliso. I wouldn't trade mine for anything (well, maybe another, but I love mine.) I think you should contact them. I think the only difference is in the wattage (heat) you'll get. Look at your current iron and maybe that will help you figure out which is better for you?

Re: question about the Oliso Irons
I think the shut-off time is the only difference and maybe a few more watts - I have the blue one and I love it - it gets plenty hot and it shuts off after about 10 mins. which isn't a big deal because it heats back up very quickly. I think the yellow one stays on for 30 mins before shutting down.
