Congratulations on this accomplishment!
Wonderful!
Good job! I'm also legally blind it one eye and have been so all my life.
Mine is my left eye and I've learned to compensate for it with my right eye, my right eye is good for sewing because that is the side of the presser foot the seam is on. I have told DH and told him....when you're walking with me - walk on the right because I never know if you've wandered off if you're on the left. I can't just look out of the corner of my left eye to see if he's still with me.
Congratulations! Less wavy lines...no more sea sickness!
Congrats. So happy for you that you will now be able to do more sewing. : )
Good for you.... I, too have probkems with depth perception....you should see me trying to cut thread! So, I am genuinely happy for you...,YAY!
That's great, Mary! Congrats!
How did you manage it? Any secret move? :) (It might help somebody with a similar problem)
That's wonderful news....I'm so happy for you! This means so much to a quilter....yay!
Mary, that's great! What did you do? Isn't it wonderful when we figure out how to do something that has been so difficult for us.
My SECRET. Go slowly and stay calm.
I had a stroke in my eye. Can't see anything usually but on a good day once in a while I get some light peripherally.
I put my left index finger next to my sewing machine foot and lightly touch it. Be careful. And then I put my right hand closer to me lightly touching the fabric. I sometimes have to just stop, give up my ego and frog it. I started a new quilt today called touchdown. It has small 1" strip sets. I got it done right. The area that is the football lacing is what the strip sets are for. They turned out beautifully and I'm so selfishly proud of myself.
I have only been blind in that eye since 2009. And it happened at night in a second.
Hope that helps.
