Well, I have a t-shirt that says, "Size matters!" It's from a fishing derby. : ) I opened this to read the wise cracks, but I guess I'm the only one who thought it was a question that would bring them on. Clean group. : )

As to quilt sizes, I've made all sizes...queen, baby, wall, etc. My favorites to make are lap sizes (or baby). The lap ones are a great size to give as gifts and I tend to make quicker types that can be used. I'm another who loves to snuggle up.

Haha....silly hubby. I make mine all kind of sizes. 4 I made for my queen size bed, the rest lap, couch and the giveaways. I made my hubby one....after taking it out of the dryer and tossing it directly on him as he lay prone on the couch, he was totally in love with the warmth it gave out. It was a couch size. Never heard another complaint out of him.

I mostly make baby quilts, I'm in that grandmother stage of life. I like TV quilts too. I've made bed quilts but they are so big to quilt.

I have yet to make a quilt to a specific size. Yes, based on math and reason, the quilt SHOULD end with X by Y dimensions but somehow that never works out. When someone asks me how big a quilt will be I answer: "I'll let you know when it is done." My favorite size is 60-ish by 75-ish. Perfect to cuddle under....and have room for the cat.

I make mostly throws (around 60x70) and baby quilts because I give a lot of them as gifts. It's not horribly expensive and it gives the recipient a functional gift that I have put a lot of love into. I have made a couple of twin sized and have made one queen sized quilt for my bed, but didn't quilt it myself. I may make another queen sized and try to quilt it myself on my domestic machine.

I think it's great that your husband would like to see your quilts on all the beds.

If you like to make them in the 70" square range they will work nice as a topper over a solid colored (cream/white) coverlet. You can then easily switch them out and still use them for a lap quilt. Occasionally I like to use that size on my table as well.

I would like to make more bed-sized quilts but I don't have a long-arm or sit-down machine to quilt them. I'm too cheap to send them out for professional quilting. I'm working on a quilt right now that would fit a twin and I'm worrying about quilting it. Lap down to wall hanging is what I make most of the time. Tell your husband if he buys you a long-arm or lets you send them out to a professional long-armer you'll be happy to make quilts for all the beds.

If asked two years ago or longer I would have agreed with Hubby. Now with so many beautiful throw size, baby size and every thing in between twin to king I would go with throw size. They are quick and even if design is intricate you don't start to feel like will this quilt ever end. I only make larger sizes when asked to by request. I don't take to many request, LOL.
