I'm with you...I wish M* would carry it. I haven't quilted with polyester yet.....but I'm going to give it a try one of these days. I have quilted some placemats with the monopoly thread and liked the way they looked.

Just tried my first spool on a quilt tonight. It was so different from the Robinson Anton that I was using, but then it wasn't as heavy either. I can't wait to try some more in other colors. It fed very smoothly in my bobbin!
Being a newer quilter (of appx 4 or 5 yrs---I'm a sloooow starter)....I have used Aurifil and love it. I've said that I am a fabric snob--even though I have purchased fabric at wally world. But when it comes to thread I think to myself "can there REALLY be that much difference". (The answer is obviously yes) Then I will think about what others have said about C&C and they love it, then I will use some of it and just don't like it as well. The one LQS I frequent the most (friendliest people and Christian atmosphere, which I love) only carries Mettler (is that spelled right?). The only other LQS (the people are distant and don't offer assistance unless you are at the cutting table!) they carry Aurifil and that is where I have purchased a couple of spools--neutrals, I think theirs is $10.50 for a large spool. And have purchased at a quilt shop in Columbia, SC (about an hour drive).....but their Aurifil is $11.50 for the large spool. Guess I need to write down or start a list somewhere of the sites all of y'all are recommending and begin to stock up on my Aurifil. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with this slow beginner. :) :icon_wave:
I jut bought some again at my LQS and it is $12 for a large spool. I didn't get my 25% off discount that was the going sale that day, I have to go back and push for a credit!! In any case, I'm going to start ordering from a Canadian source I found at $10 per large spool as there is a much wider color variety. My LQS didn't even have the 5021 that Shirley reccomeneded.

Thanks Terri. I've bookmarked it for future reference. I don't seem to be able to find Aurifil in Calgary shops so I'm happy to have a Canadian source for it.
I'm in Edmonton Canelle :)
