Re: Do quilts go on walls?
Of course they go on walls! I also use them as shades on my windows. These old houses with old windows get quite drafty in the winter. I also make short ones and use them as valances on the windows where I have shears. Now if I could just figure out a way to also use them as area rugs I'd be thrilled LOL

Of coarse they can go on walls. I always have two quilts hanging in my living room, one on each opposite wall. This is my Pillar of Flame bargello.Attachment 86808

That's the ones I'm talking about. They are beautiful, sure, but I wouldn't want them hanging on my walls! Sorry!

OMG that is beautiful. Did you design that yourself or was it a pattern? I'm envious of your color selection and design! I'd love to eventually do an illusion type of quilt.
Re: Do quilts go on walls?
I bought a quilt hanging shelf specifically for seasonal quilt to be hung on the wall, currently I have a Dwell, the one with all the houses from Camille Roskelly, hanging in my entryway.
He is wrong, you are right ;)

Re: Do quilts go on walls?
Attachment 86810 I make a lot of quilts to hang on the walls. All my family have quilts I've made them and I have so many that I want to enjoy by seeing them, so I hang them.

And your idea of making it look like a book case...I'd LOVE to have one of those on my wall...hope you will keep us informed of your progress so I can get inspired to do the same!

That is one gorgeous quilt.
Re: Do quilts go on walls?
They totally go on walls!!! Just be sure you put a good, strong hanging thingy (sorry...having brain fa*ts). You know...the little strip of fabric that makes a tunnel for a piece of wood or metal to slip through to support the quilt. Somebody! What's the correct word for this?
Now, will you also call the guys in white to come take me to The Home?

This is the Spiral Burst pattern by Becky Botello.

It is strip pieced, and way easier to do than you think. It only looks complicated. I wouldn't do this as your first bargello, but it is easily achievable as your second.

Wall hangings are very popular now....they bring color and a piece of your creative heart into your home! If nothing else, hang a creation in your sewing area!
