    Default maintenance

Is this unusual? I brought my machine in for it's annual cleaning and maintenance 3 weeks ago and it still is not ready. Am I out of line thinking this is ridiculous? I bring it to the shop where I purchased it and now am questioning whether I should look for another place.

Have they given you a reason for taking so long? I know the store that does the maintenance for my machine only has technicians there on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So I plan my drop off around those days. I have never had to wait more than a few days, and most of the time, if I bring my machine in the night before, they have it done that day.

This place refuses to make appointments and when I dropped it off they said 10-14 days now they are checking on it.

Did they give you a time frame of how long it would be when you dropped it off? The place I go only has a tech in on certain days and it also depends upon how many people bring in their machines. One day there were 17 machines dropped off. I would call be asking how much long and is this how long it usually takes.

Sometimes the techs take vacation and the work piles up. I'd be anxious to get my machine back.

My local shop has twice fixed my machine while I was standing there. I certainly don't expect that kind of service on a regular basis, but it sure was nice! I couldn't handle the kind of delay you are experiencing.

I think I would call them and ask, when will my machine be ready,.
As in the past I had, the service teck have a emergency and did not come in to pick up the machines,. like the other post maybe they only pick up on certain days,. or a teck had a vacation scheduled,.(this is what happened to me, at my ........Bernina, store and they just said it would take about three weeks,. they did not tell me that a vacation was planned,. but they should of told you how long they would have the machine,. in one instance when my daughter in law machine went in for service/maintenance,. we took it in and picked it up that afternoon, as they knew we had driven a hour and a half one way to see them, great service in Eau Claire, Wis, (they service a variety of machines). her's was a Pfaff.
Its good you took your machine in were you had purchased it, they know how to do any repairs on the machine,. usually if you bought your machine from them, the first cleaning/maintenance is free, within the first year of ownership. If its going to be awhile, to get the machine back, ask for a loner machine,........

My local Bernina shop says two to three weeks, but I've got it quicker than that. My daughter found a guy not too far from us who used to be a Bernina dealer and he is repairing/maintaining machines in his home. That's where it will go the next time I have an issue or need cleaning. He is a lot faster.

There is something strange going on in that place, they claim they called and left a message, it needs a part but I got no call now they are not sure the machine they have there is actually mine, they may have gotten it mixed up with another. Gotta go look for paperwork with serial # now-hope I can find it or actually still have it. OOPS, they just called and said my machine is ready now. Hope I have that serial#.

Hi I hope you find your machine, do you still have the box, sometimes info like numbers are on it,. also do you have a picture of it,. someone took a picture of you at retreat,. or you have a picture of sewing area,. see if the shop has a copy of your receipt and serial number, ex if you bought it from that shop, they should have it in their files,. what type of machine was it,. brand......how old,. and see what their insurance will cover or your homeowners policy. Keep us posted.
