maintenance

Right now the only place that fixes machines is 30 miles away. I dropped my machine off August 29th, they told me maybe 2-3 weeks. I called today to schedule a pick up time and kinda nudge them to get my machine done. He hasn't even touched it. He said as long as there are no surprises I can pick it up on Thursday- but no promises.

All of the local stores are closing, and he is the only one left. He has 18 machines right now, and gets 3-5 a day. People drive 2.5 hours to him, just because there is no where else. So it's a tough situation. The shop doesn't offer loaners, and I don't have a back up machine.

I hear your pain, little shops are closing and it leaves a huge hole in the market. I have considered taking classes in machine repair and starting a little business, but I keep having babies- so that's not going to work out right now.

I hope you get your machine soon. I've got everything crossed for mine. I just go down to my sewing machine and sit at my desk organizing and re-organizing stuff. It's ridiculous.

Wow, now that sounds crazy to me, and I'd be digging for that serial no. as well..............not sure if it's your's? Woo, alarm bells going off!

jeez i hope it's fixed, that it's yours, and that they don't plan on charging you a cent for anything. wow.

Baby Lock is great, they got me the serial# from my registration, went to the store with it, it was my machine but they replaced a $50.00 part without my go ahead, my DH asked to see the part they took out, did not see any problem, the guy told me I would have trouble with thread breaking-never did-DH asked him to take out the new part because I did not authorize it, he then said he would take $25.00 off for us, since it would take another 1-2 hours to replace the original part. I now have my machine back and it works great-well it worked great when it went in-I will be taking it elsewhere from now on.

That's really shady. I'm glad you have your machine back. I would go somewhere else as well.

I didn't get rid of my old machine so, although my shop only takes around 7 days, I can still sew on while I am waiting. Although it doesn't have all the bells and whistles as my new machine does, but it sure fills the gap.

I hope you didn't pay the $25. That is just not right. I think you should call or send a note to Babylock. This is just not right.
