    Default Help PLEASE.....

    Hi Everyone,

I have a Babylock Symphony..... and all of a sudden I'm having stitching problems.

The stitches look something like this ----__________----___________----
when I begin a seam ... it sews three or four normal stitches and then skips about 1/2 to 1 inch ... then sews
a few more normal stitches.... then skips again.

I've tried changing thread, bobbin, needle and I don't know what else to try. I can't call the Babylock
dealer until tomorrow, so I'm hoping someone has a suggestion.

Thanks and I hope you have a Blessed Sunday

Have you checked to see if perhaps you mistakenly put it on this stitch? I mean... is this a stitch your machine does? Specialty stictch?

what kind of fabric are you sewing on? sometimes you have to find the right needle/fabric combination.

I had that happen once...I threaded a new bobbin and that helped. Sometimes it just gets threaded wonky. The first thing to do is clean your entire machine, rethread and try a new bobbin, change out your needle and try a test piece of cotton. If all that fails, then perhaps your baby needs some TLC from the dealer. Good luck!!

Have you tried shutting it off and unplugging it? Try leaving it that way for a few minutes then plug it back in, turn it on and try sewing. Sometimes it just needs a "reboot".

Check for stray threads underneath your bobbin, then rethread everything.

Oh, that machine is sweet! But it does sound like a problem that has to be taken care of by a technician.

I am assuming you don't have a stitch regulator - yet. I had a 1 hour chat with a man who does a lot of work for BabyLock. His latest invention - I don't think it is out yet - is a device to attach to the stitch regulator, in place of a hoop for FMQ. The regulator goes under the material, the device goes on top of the material, attaches to the regulator, and it has raised "handles" which allow you to very easily move the material for FMQ.

I have the Espire and that happened once. I had the wrong size needle in. I was making a purse handle and the fabric was too thick. Once I put in a larger needle it stitched beautifully.

I have a Babylock Quest Plus, and I have had that issue. Once I cleaned the machine (under the stitch plate and around the bobbin), oiled the bobbin hook, replaced the needle, and rethreaded my machine, it worked better.
