I did use the dryer sheet in combo with some rubbing alcohol. I always keep some used dryer sheets in the shop to wipe my safety glasses with. It helps keep the sawdust of the lenses.

I used a Mr Clean Magic eraser to get gunk (not sure what it was) off my iron. Worked great and didn't scratch the T-Fal finish.
