Summer is almost gone and I did not get a pedicure. Not even once.
Whenever I thought of getting a pedicure, I was tempted by fabric and off I went again.
Oh the sacrifices we quilters make for the love of fabric...:icon_sniff:
What did you give up this summer for your addiction?

That is very, very pretty!!! Love it, what is it with me and liking a darker color for sashing anyway? Can't say I gave anything up, just upped the ante for an additional hobby..........makes the Christmas easier for DH, and kids this year! Muahahaha!
Yep...I'd rather have more fabric than a pedicure. My solution to not having pretty toes this summer was to find sandals with a closed toe.
I adore Paul's quilt! I love all the dark colors! I went to eating lunch out just one day a week and packing a lunch the other four days! :D
Give something wonderful up just so I could buy more fabric? WHY? Just don't pay the light bill . . .

I recommend Paul giving you a gift certificate for a pedicure as a way to thank you for the lovely quilt. OR- money for more fabric? The quilt is looking lovely.

Beautiful quilt! I guess I am not as devoted as you are Preeti.....I still got my pedicures, my nails done and the gray covered!!! Nothing interferes with those things.....yes, I guess I am vain! But I did manage to "acquire" quite a bit of beautiful fabric this summer too!!! I guess the thing I have given up (so to speak) is not going shopping....not even window shopping....for clothes, shoes or purses! I am especially bad when it comes to shoes & purses!!! :0

I got my very first pedicure this summer. Got a manicure at the same time but it did not last. After two days, the manicure started chipping bad. But, my pedicure has lasted a long time.
I have not bought much fabric this summer. I'm trying to shop my stash. We did have a flood in the basement - broken water pipe. I had a lot of fabric stored in nice cardboard boxes that used to hold printer paper. They have snug lids on them. Well, a lot of them had to be thrown out. One box got really soaked and wound up washing all the fabric in it. Only used white vinegar and warm water on delicate cycle, but a lot of it faded. All batiks in that box - two wash loads and there was a lot of bleeding and fading, Of all the fabrics why did it have to be the most expensive fabric and I thought vinegar would set the colors not destroy it. I also had several color catchers in each load. Oh well. Went to Lowe's and bought nice storage containers. So the next flood won't harm the fabric unless the flood is big enough to wash away the house.

You know, I did the same thing this summer.....really wanted a nice pedicure, but it never happened.... Fabric won out...again!

Love the quilt.....like the greyish blue batiks!!! I gave up getting a new pair of good arch supporting flip flops!! Fabric won that argument twice lol. What we wont do for love of fabric! Thanks for sharing:D
I was going to go for one last pedicure this year until I did this yesterday.:icon_eek:

PS I have never had a pedicure! I have painted my own toe nails over the years but not since I was in my 40's so that's over 20 years ago!! ( but the fabric I have gotten!!! Lovely! )
nope, just the toes. did something similar last year only involved a door and the last 3 toes on that foot. I need to wear shoes or slippers, but like barefoot better,Quote:
