Beautiful quilt! I guess I am not as devoted as you are Preeti.....I still got my pedicures, my nails done and the gray covered!!! Nothing interferes with those things.....yes, I guess I am vain! But I did manage to "acquire" quite a bit of beautiful fabric this summer too!!! I guess the thing I have given up (so to speak) is not going shopping....not even window shopping....for clothes, shoes or purses! I am especially bad when it comes to shoes & purses!!! :0
I love the way the quilt is turning out. I'm sure your DH will love it - looks very manly!
I got my very first pedicure this summer. Got a manicure at the same time but it did not last. After two days, the manicure started chipping bad. But, my pedicure has lasted a long time.
I have not bought much fabric this summer. I'm trying to shop my stash. We did have a flood in the basement - broken water pipe. I had a lot of fabric stored in nice cardboard boxes that used to hold printer paper. They have snug lids on them. Well, a lot of them had to be thrown out. One box got really soaked and wound up washing all the fabric in it. Only used white vinegar and warm water on delicate cycle, but a lot of it faded. All batiks in that box - two wash loads and there was a lot of bleeding and fading, Of all the fabrics why did it have to be the most expensive fabric and I thought vinegar would set the colors not destroy it. I also had several color catchers in each load. Oh well. Went to Lowe's and bought nice storage containers. So the next flood won't harm the fabric unless the flood is big enough to wash away the house.

You know, I did the same thing this summer.....really wanted a nice pedicure, but it never happened.... Fabric won out...again!

Love the quilt.....like the greyish blue batiks!!! I gave up getting a new pair of good arch supporting flip flops!! Fabric won that argument twice lol. What we wont do for love of fabric! Thanks for sharing:D
I was going to go for one last pedicure this year until I did this yesterday.:icon_eek:
