Modern Building Blocks Quilt Kit - Moda Fabrics - Moda Fabrics
EEEEKKK!!!! I died when I came upon this last night. I love it. I really enjoy trying out different quilt blocks in one quilt. I have done one sampler (confession- it's not finished yet). And would love to start (and finish) another. I love the packaging and the cards that the patterns come in.
Apparently there are no directions in putting the blocks together. It just breaks it down by cutting measurements and diagrams on the construction. So you need to have a little experience to do this. If I got this, I would use as many HSTs and Flying geese as I could, as opposed to cutting and sewing triangles.
My birthday is next month, so this would be a great excuse to get it. I already emailed my husband.:icon_happy:
Does anyone have this yet? Have you tried it out?

I saw it at MSQC yesterday. Not sure exactly what it entails.

Like you I swooned when I saw this. I found a place that is doing a BOM using bold prints and I signed up immediately. I'm getting Option A. Modern Building Blocks - BOM
I would have JUMPED at the chance to get it through M*, but my jaw dropped with the fabric bundle!

You can buy the kit as shown. Or other places are doing a BOM with just the pattern.

Holy cow. That fabric bundle is so perfect. Ridiculously so. Though to be honest, I rather not do a BOM, I'd rather get it all at one time. I am going to email them and see if they would send the whole thing at once.
Did you see that one of the blocks is a yard square? That's HUGE! I do like that this is a big quilt. Considering the difficulty and precision needed in piecing, I would want something of substantial size.

I have a bunch as well. I would get this and have it as quilt number 1 for 2015. Which means I have a ton to get done before hand. I don't care, too many projects is better then none at all. Right now I don't have a sewing machine and can't sew at all, and it's driving me nuts. Hopefully I get my machine back in a week.

Can we purchase just the pattern somewhere. I have plenty of fabric for it.

I just got an email back from the store. They would be happy to put together a fabric bundle that is basically the same as they have for option a. The actual pattern calls for 15 yards of fabric! 3 of which are cream, which I already have. So if I just got their selection of colors it would come to about 100-120, depending on how many solids. The pattern itself is 12.95. I think I will go for their fabric bundle, it is so beautiful.

Oh Verenaerin, I'm so happy they worked out a deal that worked for you!! Dang, 15 yards of fabric, that's nuts! But the fabric really is divine! I can't wait for my first month; I'll probably just sit and pet my fabric for the first few days....umm, Smile. I didn't mean for that to sound the way it did.
