Oh, this is soooo sad. I haven't been to Lancaster/Intercourse/Bird in the Hand for a few years, but so enjoyed the trips.

"Video killed the radio star", internet killed the mom and pop store. So sad that we will one day only be able to purchase fabric by looking at it, versus feeling it.

I cannot believe this. I was just there on Saturday. There was no indication that they were closing. The shelves were well stocked and the checkout line was long. Such a shame. I shopped there several times a year. Sad news.

Wow, so sudden. I sure hope they can pay their employees. It always made me wonder how the employers feel knowing they are going to close and yet don't tell anyone. I wonder if the employees knew.

Makes me want to make a stop at my LQS and buy some fabric from them, just because.

Ahhhh, this is sad. I was just there in November. The store will be sorely missed for sure. Thanks for letting us know May.

I was also sad to receive the email yesterday. Here's a link to an article in Lancaster Online: Intercourse-based Good Enterprises closes to pursue bankruptcy liquidation - News

I loved their quilt shop too. I guess it is the sign of the economy since their $s were diversified among many different businesses and they still had to file bankruptcy. I feel badly for all involved especially and this time of year makes it all the harder on each.
