    Bonnie Hunter uses old phone books for her papal piecing. Inexpensive and easy to remove . Just cut to sizeandaway you go.

    Lyric - I should have mentioned, I did use the 10' paper piecing paper from MSQC. There is quite of lot of them in a package. I have wanted to try the muslin technique, but I agree that it would make the sandwich process thicker! And yes, there is a lot of inspiration on Pinterest when it comes to string quilts!

    One of my favorite quilts is a string quilt, it has scraps from nearly every quilting project i had made up to that time. Full of memories. Didnt sash it, but used a border fabric to tie it all together.
