CyberMonday orders not shipped yet???

This isn't a rant about M* - this has to do with Connecting Threads and JoAnns. I ordered one item from Joanns - a roll of batting, on Monday evening. It hasn't shipped yet. Connecting Threads I ordered 8 items, and found out the next day that the order was on hold - apparently their computers can't handle two people from one shipping address. But this hasn't shipped yet either. I get that CyberMonday is a big deal, but I just feel this is getting ridiculous. Plus, the CT order includes fabric for a Christmas present!

Is anyone else in the same situation? No shipping yet and almost a week old? Ugh.

Just checked my MSQC order and no tracking available yet.......drat!

JoAnns and shipping - Oh, don't get me started. DD had a special order shipped from two different stores (ordered through our local JoAnns and eacj coming from less than 60 miles away - HUGE order - drapery fabric). One store shipped the next day and the following day it was at our local store. Two weeks plus four days later the other package arrived! AND the manager of the store that shipped late YELLED at my daughter on the phone because she dared to call him and ask when it would be shipped. AND once it was shipped he sent it AIR!! The only air was in his head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my connectiing threads order yesterday. Hope you get yours soon.

I ordered 8 curtain rods from Joann's on Cyber Monday and received all 3 boxes on Wednesday!!!

If I'm gonna shop Black Friday/Cyber Monday or any other big sale, I'm gonna have to wait in line. Some times the lines are short, others, they are long. Shipping just adds one more line. Hubby's packages came three days after he ordered. Mine, well, I may get one today, maybe.
Patience is such a hard virtue to learn.

Don't worry, I am stalking the postal carrier & the UPS/Fed Ex vans myself.

It seems that the whole online shipping this season is hit or miss! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one stalking the delivery men either ;)

Just don't get me started on the post office this morning though - talk about having bad shipping experiences on both ends!

I too ordered from Joann's on Monday evening..and mine has not shipped.

Oh yeah. I don't do Black Friday for the obvious reasons. This is the first year I have done Cyber Monday and even then, wasn't doing it cause i wanted to try it. I needed some thread and thought, okay, Cyber Monday....sales... free shipping, I need some thread so I went to Connecting Threads, There were my threads for 40% off and free shipping! So I shopped for enough that I dont' think I'll have to buy thread at all next year! I got some fabric pieces and a few charm/FQ bundles that were fantastic prices. I placed the order at 11:41am.(was "shopping for 2 hours!) Was notified by my CC that the charges were approved. I got a notice from CT saying the order has been received. That was on Monday shortly after noon. Now, as for mail time yesterday (friday) not a single word about the order. No shipped notice, no on hold notice..nothing.
I also, with Cyber Monday on my mind, I went to a site that sells hummingbird feeders and such. I got 10% off for joining the site, and the 20% off and free shipping for Cyber monday sale promo. Ordered, was notified by my CC (via email) that charges were approved. nothing from the site. Again, as of yesterday, nothing. No communication at all.
I know they get swamped on Cyber Mondays and special sale days, but come on... they know that will happen so why dont' the get temp help for the week? Or at least have some communication as to ship date etc.
Thankfully, none of these things I "have" to have for christmas or anything, but they don't know that! Don't know what to do about it but wait and watch my email. But I do have to say that normally CT is good about shipping within about 2 days of the order being placed...but again, isn't that rather long? shouldn't shipping be about end of the following day unless there is a problem? I'd say that would be good customer service and happy customers in the making.

I got my Black Friday order from MSQC yesterday, I thought that was pretty good for Black Friday orders, just 7 days.

That is good, Jean. I just got an email yesterday from M* stating that my Black Friday order had just shipped. I'm excited!

I ordered an item from Nancy's Notions, waited a week and then called them. They told me the item was on back order and wouldn't be in stock until January! Why in the world didn't they let me know? I cancelled it...

I ordered from Joann's on Sunday and have heard nothing. I also ordered from a quilt store via quiltshops.com and got that order yesterday. I'm in no hurry for the Joann's stuff - thank goodness!

I got my Black Fri. order from MSQ on Thursday, but I had ordered at midnight for the DD and some other things in my wish cart. Connecting Threads had a sale on batting until Nov 26th so I ordered that night along with some fabric. Got that order a few days ago too. It wasn't worth me waiting as I needed the batting and it was at a good sale price. I'm waiting on an order from fabrics.com. It would have been here already, but they didn't have as much as I ordered, so told them to send what they had.

So far, my orders online have been great and I've had free shipping on most orders. I love shopping in my slippers and not having to go out in the cold. To tell you the truth, I think some of the online sites I shop for fabric had nearly the same deals before Black Friday, so I took advantage!

Good Karma must have come to visit briefly - Joanns has shipped my batting. Have to wait until Monday for any word on Connecting Threads.

My M* order placed early on Sunday has not shipped yet, I am getting a bit anxious.

I really shouldn't comment on this thread....
I love this forum it's my happy place. We are military stationed overseas and wait 2-8 weeks for a package. I'm not going to rant further ....be thankful, a week really???

IT isn't the time it takes for the shipping of the item, we are talking about the time it takes for the order to be filled and then shipped. Once shipped it is up to the USPS or FEDex or UPS...but as in my case too...the order hasn't even been shipped from the store yet. I called the one place and they said it was shipped yesterday and didn't know why I wasn't notified. Really? It wasn't in my order history and they said they didn't know why! Yet they have my CC number listed there on my account. I don't think any of use would be "complaining" if the stores had just given us some comment as to the status of the orders.

I am still waiting for a shipping confirmation from Connecting Threads and M*.
Hancock finally shipped my Black Friday order a week after I ordered it. It is probably still a week out. When they did send a shipping notification, it did not come from a source that was identified as coming from Hancock Fabrics. For some reason, that irked me almost as much as anything. It looked a lot like phishing spam.
Thankfully, the items that are still in limbo somewhere are not going to require piecing and quilting before being gifted!

I hope everyone else's orders arrive in enough time! Grr! According to Em, I still have 16 days before Christmas.

Well, I just checked my latest MSQC order and it is still in limbo....also placed on the first....so I filled out the contact form and asked what the status was. Now we wait.....well, I wait....

I ordered something from JoAnn's... it was here in days. My sons' Cyber Monday deals have started to arrive here. He ships it all here and then comes and wraps it. LOL.

I ordered on Cyber Monday through Kohls and I know it's not quilting related, but a couple days ago I received an email from them stating that the shipment was delayed due to weather conditions in certain parts of the country. They said that I would receive my order in the later part of the shipping range they quoted or within a couple days after that. It was nice they gave an update.....today's my last day to use the Kohls cash so I'll be placing another order today, sigh.

I just started a rant about MSQ not shipping my order from Dec 3rd. I just called and it hasn't even been pulled yet!!!! It was my very first order from them and I hate waiting on packages.

I finally got an email from Joann's on the order I made on Dec 1st. They are running behind, so sorry, gave me free shipping if I make another order over $25. Now why would I want to make another order when I can't get the first one??

If you get MSQC's FB posts, they said they are 3-4 days behind because of Black Friday, Cyber Monday. Be patient! They even put on a night shift to try to catch up.

I just saw this on FB, and think its great that they are keeping customers informed, even if there are delays, and that they are doing everything possible to fix the backup. I think the hard part about the delays on many estores is the lack of communication, such as I am facing with Connecting Threads - it still shows "processing" a week after purchase.

Did you check Miss* web page on here???? They sent out an up-date stating they hired a night crew to help with their orders and apologize for the delay. Just wanted you to know.

My experience so far M* ordered 3am Black Friday (11/29) Shipped Monday Dec 2nd and received in NC on Thursday the 5th.

Joann's ordered Thanksgiving Day (11/28) Label printed Sunday Dec 1st, Shipped Monday Dec 2nd, arrived Chicago on Dec 3rd.

Got an email this evening stating mine was mailed!

Jan F, I did see the post on FB!

I'm really not too worried about the shipment from M*. Nothing in there needs to assembled before gifting, so as long as it arrives by 12/24, I'm in good shape.
Hancocks & Connecting Threads are low on my list of shippers, especially for their performance in customer communication. No problem letting me know you charged my card! Maybe you could let me know you had a deluge of orders and I am still on the list to be helped with my order.

Update on Connecting Threads: My order shipped yesterday. The FedEx Smartpost number doesn't work. Also, I ordered a half yard of one fabric. Specifically remember order one half yard cut, along with some fat quarters. The invoice now shows that items as qty 2 at 1.49 each - I've got a bad feeling that I'm getting two FQs rather than one half yard. I NEED the half yard if I'm to get five applique pieces out of one cut, or I would have ordered three FQs. Communication sent to them but nothing back yet.

I placed an order w/ CT on Cyber Monday and received a notice on Friday that it was shipped out. I'm sure they are all deluged with orders. Hopefully yours will come soon.

I think you'll be OK on the 1/2 yard from CT, I've ordered 1/2 and full yards from them and I think they just use those numbers to denote the size of the cut. 1 is an FQ, 2 is a 1/2 yard, 4 is a yard, etc.

My 9-to-5 job is with a company that distributes art & drafting supplies. We sell to wholesalers and retailers (but not the general public), many of whom are online companies, both large and small. It is our customers who put our products on sale for their customers on Cyber-Monday. But we don't hire extra order-entry or warehouse workers for the one week after Thanksgiving; frankly, in order to train them (which would take longer than a week) we would have to pull our staff off of what they are already struggling to accomplish. We just get to every order as soon as possible. But we're frequently backed up for the first week or so of December. Add to that the sorts of weather-related shipping delays we've seen in the Eastern US in the past week, and the consumer (that's you) is left waiting... and waiting...

If you are ordering something online, it is HIGHLY likely that the company from whom you are purchasing does not even have a brick-and-mortar warehouse. So if the distributor for the widget you ordered from www dot stuffisus dot com is backed up due to so many orders coming in from multiple websites, you are just going to have to wait. It may or may not have anything to do with the company you're dealing with.

M*QC is unusual in that what we order from them is shipped from Hamilton, and when they are out of stock, we find out. I placed an order over a week ago and as far as I know, it has not even been pulled from the shelf yet. THAT'S OKAY. The reason I like to order from them (in addition to the hilarious emails! :D ) is that I feel that I know these people (even though I don't), and I am absolutely confident that they are doing the best they can. My order may not arrive as soon as I'd like, but I'm willing to wait, because I know how stressful their jobs can be. And I'd rather wait a few days than have some poor driver get into a wreck in the snow.

Do me a favor? Please email the head of any company with whom you do business that does right by you and let them know you appreciate it. Nothing motivates people to work harder than to know their efforts are appreciated.

Amy, give FedEx a minimum of 24 hours before the tracking will show up online. Sometimes it just takes that long for the computers to catch up.

Very true. I think I need to get off the computer and go quilt something. Maybe that will get me out of this GRRRRR cycle and into a :) cycle.
