    Default Sewing clothing.....

It has been so long (and one head injury later) since I have sewn any clothing. The monkey fabric got here earlier today (one day early!!). It is quilting cotton, so good quality fabric. So, my question is this - preshrink or not?

    Thanks in advance!

I pre-shrink cotton when using it in clothing. Of course, the last time I made clothing I think polyester was still all the rage.

I always do with yardage. Since I was selling on Ebay and Etsy customers expected it. They didn't want their nice expensive outfits shrinking.

    Watcha making?

    I'd pre-wash for clothing for sure. Then again, I'm a pre-washer.

    Lorie,
She's making a shirt for her Love Monkey for their trip to Hawaii. Wait, strike that.

OK, that isn't quite right either.
She's making her Love a shirt with Monkeys for their trip. Dang!
    One more try.
She's making her Love a shirt, with Monkeys printed, on it for their trip to Hawaii.

Good luck Pat! I hope it goes to better than I tried to describe it!

Quilting cotton for clothing, must pre-wash it! I pre-wash nothing so I really mean this.

The lady time I tried to sew a dress was in 1969.... I sewed the ATM to the neck... Since then I gave only made a couple of baby things, and one skirt... Pother than quilting, sewing is not for me.... And even in quilting, my sewing isn't the best... It's amazing what washing, , drying and crinkles can hide....
