Awww Cheri, still, your post smacks of a sadness (at least for me). I'll bet your quilts are the bomb dot com. Well, at least, as you say, your sewing room won't be vacated any time soon. I'm going to check out your lens and blog to get my eye full.

I have tried several places to sell, but no luck at any of them. So actually, I really don't have a reason to quilt anymore! I have several I keep around the house but I have to agree with my kids/family... dont' need any more quilts! I have to come up with something else to sew and create. But there are so many charities that need quilts. Blondie's COC and Marilyn's PICU to name two. Ruby's pillowcase project is fun, too. If you are someone that has to have a reason to do what you love to do, it really shouldn't be that hard to find reasons. My kids may someday tell me the same thing - but I don't care. I will continue to make quilts that I like and give them away to those in need.

I have given away many. Problem is.. I can't afford to keep buying supplies to make and then give away. My budget is tight so I can now only spend when I have reason. My thrift store has even not been having much in way of usable fabrics/sheets to make quilts with. I have tried to sell, but nothing sells so I am in a quandry...I want to do it, but can't afford to do it!

Blame it on the budget! I just can't afford to buy what I don't have to have anymore. My thrift store has even not had much in way of fabric/sheets etc for quilting and sewing. I"d love nothing more than to just make quilt after quilt, but when all is said and done..it all depends on the money available when all is said and done!

Let me know what you think about my blog and lense. I was making a little bit of earnings with them both and I'd spend that on supplies, but they aren't making much lately!

Lyric... the memory quilt is a great idea. I don't know what you would do (please let me know!) for a new born but I made a t-shirt quilt for my two oldest grand daughters...I collected t shirts that they wore that "meant" something to them...the design or picture on the front was something of their life..like when they both liked Hanna Montana and the one loves ocean life and went to the sea aquarium and got a t shirt from there and one loved tinkerbell and had a t with the fairy on the front... and so on. I collected for 4 years! But the ones I got are perfect for them and they both still remember the meaning of each t shirt. They both love the quilt. But for a new born? LEt me know what you do as I might have a reason to make one in the next few years. A first cousin once removed is getting married in April and i am making her a quilt, but a baby might come afterwards and I can plan for that!

I have lots of UFO's to finish in the next year, but I won't bore everyone with the huge list. For next year though, I only have two goals: To be part of a BOM club, and to become a blogger. I'm not exactly sure what I want on the BOM except that it be monthly rather than weekly, and that it be free or low cost (no job = no expensive projects).

Edit - by "bore" above I in no way mean that everyone else's list is boring - they can be very inspirational. Mine mostly consists of two categories - get out of the ziploc bag and start, or sandwich and finish. I'm sorry if I offended anyone - not my goal here!

I have two quilts I aspire to make next year. One is called Sacajawea. It is a sampler and each block represents something about her life or her journey west w Lewis and Clark. I read the book Sacajawea by Ann Waldo as a young bride and it remains one of my favorites and it made me a huge admirer of the role Sacajawea played in history. The second quilt I want to do is the Pony Express Sampler..another quilt that celebrates a favorite time in western history. Both will be challenging to me and an opportunity to learn and improve my quilting. I also have a book for a civil war sampler and the Farmers daughter book..both very appealing to me ...I am a huge fan of the old fashioned traditional quilts.
