    Great question.

    In 2014 I want to:

    finish my Farmers' Wife quilt
Step up my charity quilting efforts to my own personal local causes
Send at least one or two bereavement quilts a month
Finish my Mystery strip club quilt from the LQS
Finish my Sulky BOM wall hanging quilt for my sewing room
My daughter fell in love with my Iron Quilt Quilt so it has bought me the time to do her horse silhouette quilt for her birthday in March
    Make hubby a quilt
Make my little guy his train quilt which is an attic windows pattern.
Finish decorating and organizing my sewing room
Become friends with my new sewing machine, we are having a rough start. I have found a machine that intimidates me a bit.

Renate and I are doing a Round Robin of sorts. We are making ourselves a quilt. It is going to be so much fun having something when it is done that has as much of her work in it is my own from a dear friend. It will take longer than a year I am sure but to start on it is something I cannot wait to do and it will be started during Christmas vacation. I just decided on the center design and colors today. I will do the shopping for the first bit of fabrics right after the holiday.

I love this question & reading about everybody 's plans for 2014. I want to....
    * finish my 2 falling charm quilts
    * a t shirt quilt for my neighbor's daughter graduating from high school
    * I'm crazy about all the IQ quilts with the black sashing & stain glass window quilts so I want to try that.
    * a quilt for my hubby maybe out of jeans or old flannel shirts
    * start collecting & learning more about civil war quilts/fabrics

I had to come back and read everyone's list!!l

Janet? Would love to hear how you like the Dear Jane book - that is far down my Bucket list along with a Bargello!

Cil - Yes, I need to get my sewing room more organized and having Bookcases really is great for storing Bolts! My "stacks" of other fabric don't stand up as well, so maybe comic book things?

Robin Thank you for the idea! I never thought about painting this room I took over *doh* that would help us feel more creative? Good luck having your DH finish the ceiling for your painting

We've got the inside of the house to get painted (and NOT by me)... so there will be a good few weeks where everything will be a mess, I hope to use that time to move my clothing fabric into our other spare bedroom and OUT of my Quilting/Sewing room - But the closet is good for all the 60" bolts so not sure I can accomplish this either.

Good luck all, will be interesting to look back on this thread about this time next year and see what we've all done

I am going to try and make each of my four grand kids a lap quilt for their birthdays which will require a lot of willpower as I am addicted to this forum and the internet, but I'm going to give it my best shot. I'm also really interested in learning to hand quilt.

I love the fabrics in today's DD, but I have so much other fabric in my stash, I'm using self-restraint. I want to put together a quilt from my Lovely fabrics & charm pack. I really like the Star Spangled Patriot Quilt pattern from Jenny's tut. I just finished a scrappy baby quilt (pastel colors) from that pattern using 3.5" pcs. instead of 5" charms. I turned out really well. Also, I have several quilt tops that need to be quilted, so that's on my to-do list for 2014. JCY

I don't waste time making lists. More time to sew then
I will be attending my first quilting retreat. So excited as my daughter is coming from Florida to attend with me.
I want to try: stack n whack, you've got mail, tumbler, twister, wedding ring, cathedral window.
So many patterns that I'd like to try. Needless to say, I'll never be bored......

I have accumulated some great fabrics over the last year that have no patterns to go with them - so I will be looking far and wide for just the right thing. I have only one UFO, and will likely finish that before the end of the year - so clean slate for me! Just been quilting for a year, so am still very motivated to finish what I start. I'm sure I'll get over it I do have the pattern and fabric for the Labyrinth - so I suppose that is on my to do list.

    Let's see......
    Falling charms quilt
Aphrodite quilt (from the stonehenge material)
    baby quilt due in April
Red, white & blue quilt for the mother (co-worker) of a fallen soldier
After that one I will need to do something fun, so maybe a drunkard's path
AND I'm taking a class taught by Jenny in March
2014 is going to be a good year!

For 2014, I plan on learning how to quilt, bwaahhhh.

With a hoard of grown children and a grandbaby on the way the other night it came to me. Quilt them a memory quilt (guess that's what it's called). You know, a quilt in which I'll embroider a name of loved ones on blocks within the quilt. That will be five quilts in all. For speaking with my quilting mentor, Debra, I am thinking that will take a minimum of six months to accomplish. Seeing as I love sewing, dancing, reading, and a heapa buncha other things it will be interesting to see how it pans out. The baby is due in June and my baby girl is high risk. I am torn between making the baby quilt in time for the shower or waiting to be sure there is a viable birth (I know, sounds horrible, but sadly she has lost babies in utero in the past). I don't want to do something that could make her sad. On the other hand, if I go ahead and make the quilt it would be a memoriam . . . gotta pray on it. Or, could simply ask her. Did kinda want it to be a surprise though.

As of today I am thinking of making two of the quilts the jelly roll scrappy type with hand tying; two of them I want to be hand quilted with . . . I think it was embroidery floss, darn it, I can't recall but I saw it online recently and it was gorgeous. It wasn't regular hand quilting thread, but was a bit thicker, like EF. I have got to re-find whatever it was that I was reading for it was gorgeous.

I am excited at the prospects because I am thinking after successfully completing them I will be so much further in skill along the journey of my new quilting hobby.

Only thing I have planned is a quilt as a wedding gift in April. Other than that, I have 2 to finish (tops are done) and then because I have given quitls to everyone I know and donated many and have been told "no more quilts, mom!" I have tried several places to sell, but no luck at any of them. So actually, I really don't have a reason to quilt anymore! I have several I keep around the house but I have to agree with my kids/family... dont' need any more quilts! I have to come up with something else to sew and create. I guess my down fall is, I have to have a reason to make something and not just do it for fun cause what do I do with it after the fun ends? But my sewing room won't be vacated any time soon!
