The wedding ring pattern is a pretty difficult pattern to sew. I think I heard Jenny say she hasn't figured out an easy way to do it yet, so you may not get a tutorial on that for a while. There is a company that sells a printed interfacing that you can use to make this pattern, it is called QuiltSmart Quiltsmart Printed Interfacing. It is sort of like paper piecing but the interfacing stays attached to the fabric in the quilt. That would be one way for a beginner to make that quilt pattern with less difficulty. There are also templates for it, but no real easy way to make this.

The quilt you see is an heirloom quilt that was a gift to Jenny.

Well you just answered my question, Jean. I have been eye spying the wedding ring quilt and have fallen in love with the design. Alas, I will have to wait until my skill level meets up with the desire. Wondering if there is a ballpark figure as to how long an average quilter would take to tackle such a project? Did that ? make sense? IOW, should I quilt for a year, two, more before attempting to make a DWR quilt?

    Thanks.

Lyric, Try to fall in love with some of the simple quilts first so you don't get discouraged when they are too difficult. Simple quilts can be eye poppers if you make them with super fabrics. There is no way to say how long it would be until you are ready to tackle a DWR...it can vary from person to person. It's a great goal to have, but they are no piece of cake to make!
