Show me your cans...
...your trash cans that is! (Get your mind out of the gutter!)
After a morning of working on the matching quilts the Mrs. and I are making for our moms, our can runneth over with all sorts of scraps. Maybe we should take a break and clean up? Who has time for that?!

I am happy to report that the 12 pieces of fabric we started with were cut into 156 pieces, which were sewn into 24 blocks which were cut into 72 pieces. which are sitting in piles waiting to be reconstructed into 24 new blocks and a border.
Not getting much sewing done lately. #Parenting

Re: Show me your cans...
Ryan, I see many useful scrap pieces in your can.
Be warned. I am BORED.
This could be dangerous.
When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
They are usually 90 degrees.
A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

If the scraps are too small for another quilt, I remember reading on the forum in the past that some people put all those scraps in a pillow case and sew it shut and animal shelters use those pillows.

Re: Show me your cans...
I opt for the bigger can idea. when I am on a sewing streak everytime hubby comes out here asking if my can needs emptying and is surprised when its full sometime 3 or 4 times a day. granted its not that big standard wastebasket size but still. I am not a small scrap saver no room.

This is a great idea. I am going to get a new can and dedicate it to only scraps and selvedges just for this!
