Re: Get your stillborn bereavement baby flannel at Joann.com
I certainly didn't mean for you to feel as if I was attacking you or your post! I'm truly sorry if you thought that!
I'm not going jump anybody for shopping anywhere, at anytime, especially online. Most of that is handled by electronics and is all qued up when they open again on Friday. At least in the ad flyer I was sent, it will be 50¢ less per yard on Friday.
I personally have done my shopping at some pretty weird times depending on the shift I was working. I am very thankful for the availability of at least some grocery stores being open 24 hours. It meant I didn't have to give up some of my scarce daytime off just to market.
As for being open on the big holidays, it doesn't seem quite fair. I am choosing not to shop tomorrow, especially in person. I'm tired of Christmas shopping commercials in mid-October and the crazy marketing that makes us think the best way to be happy is to have/buy more stuff. So, I am going to vote with my wallet, as thin as it is, and stay out.
If you need fabric, then by all means, go get it at the best price you can, AND the free shipping is a bonus.
Re: Get your stillborn bereavement baby flannel at Joann.com
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have no plans to shop tomorrow unless by chance I have any energy to near a computer tomorrow night. I expect that I will be asleep before anyone else.
I don't like that some stores are open tomorrow but surely wish I could take part in those deals. I won't go because the crowd and I don't get along so well. I just don't like them.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Re: Get your stillborn bereavement baby flannel at Joann.com

Re: Get your stillborn bereavement baby flannel at Joann.com
The sale is online only, The stores are not open. I just bought 12 yards for quilts for the bereavement group for 20 bucks and free shipping.
Re: Get your stillborn bereavement baby flannel at Joann.com
There sure are some cute patterns available today online. I see no problem buying from them as the physical stores are closed. :)
Sadly my budget is shot but I still have several bolts of RK to work with.
Re: Get your stillborn bereavement baby flannel at Joann.com
Holy cannoli! That's a great sale!
But I'm most thankful for my little 'on-line' world of buddies!
A lot of you have embraced this project beyond my wildest expectation.
On a side note, I think this extension of 'Black Friday' is sad. I'm a nurse, and I've worked a lot of holidays. But that's healthcare.
Life and death sort of stuff....
Maybe it's just me, but is nothing 'sacred' anymore?
We are allowing retail to enter a day that traditional was meant for families.
So, so sad....
Re: Get your stillborn bereavement baby flannel at Joann.com
Having worked retail and the holidays all my life including thanksgiving day when it was necessary. I don't see the problem with shopping online as we sip our morning tea/coffee. I worked hard yesterday to get all my prep work done to make today easier. Its only my immeadiate family as most other relatives are gone. We have this as a day of family things , we play together, shop online together, look at what we want from santa online cook and eat and cleanup together. Both my boys live home and help me as does hubby. I will be working hard the next 2 days to try and satisfy angry , grabby, pushing and nasty customers all trying to get the one thing everyone else wants. Thank goodness 95% of my customers are not that. I will totally enjoy my holiday with my family and happy I got a deal on this flannel for the groups I make quilts for.

And like you, I'll order later today with no remorse, my friend. That's a crazy good price!
I'm just not happy to make Thanksgiving into an on-site, extension of a 'Black Friday' nightmare....
I will never be part of your 95%, and surely not part of your 5%.
That's when the crabby people come out!
Definitely NOT how I roll.
Happy Thanksgiving, chica! I LOVE the part when the gents helping you with clean-up!
You're training a few 'good' men!!
Re: Get your stillborn bereavement baby flannel at Joann.com
Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for the heads up on this wonderful online sale. I just bought 16 yds of flannel for 33 dollars, including tax! This will allow me to make more quilts for charity. It is a win win for me. I am not in a store dealing with the crowds - no thank you. I have moved to mostly online shopping for the holidays. Just don't like the stress and attitudes of people in the stores - shoppers, not the workers. There is no angst if I don't get the "perfect" gift - there is no perfect gift, except for love!
