This is precisely why my DH won't go with me! lol
LOL My DH brought me to my LQS the other day and after a couple min. he said he was getting the "heebie-jeebies" but he was a dear and helped me pick out some coordinating fabric for me to finish a Kit I am putting together for a friend.
That's what my daughter says when I go to M&L Fabric in LA. So last time I went alone. :)
LOL ~ this is too funny. I always shop for fabric by myself. :icon_happy:
The only other alternative is to go with another quilter.
hubby is always in such a rush are we done yet can we leave...unless its fabric we are looking for him for. then we could take all day looking.
DH is not a shopper, even for himself, so he doesn't usually go fabric shopping with me. He recently went with me to get some extra yardage for a project and began questioning the clerk about how they inventory all those bolts of fabric. It kept him occupied so I could do a little shopping. LOL!
Winterset, Iowa, home of Fons and Porter, has a wonderful little downtown with benches lining the sidewalks - for the men I suppose. Guess this wouldn't help on a frosty winter day, tho.
My hubby goes with me , but when he has had enough, he will yell to me half way across the store..."?Honey, I found the stretch lycra!" Or he will go to the clerks and take out his nitro pills and tell them that he has come prepared, should he find something so exciting.... <<<shaking head>>>
And this is why I go by myself....and also because he makes me nervous standing around looking like a shoplifter.

Oh yeah.... It's. Just easier to go alone.... Although my DH never complained about how long my "one thing " took me to find....
If only mine wouldn't go with me! He's the type who scours the store and will pull bolts and bring them to me. Doesn't matter if it's heavyweight home dec or pique ... he goes by color ... so anything is fair game.
I planned on going to the Hancock thread sale last week but felt a cold coming on and went to bed. So I wake up and there's a small bag full of thread. He went and got 4 spools of Sulky in 4 different neutral colors and 6 ~ 1,200 yard spools of Coats extra long staple 30 wt Egyptian cotton (2 each of 3 different neutrals.) All I wanted was ONE spool of 50 wt as a spare .........
So if anyone wants to go fabric shopping and have to wait on a husband to get finished "looking" you can borrow mine!
I go with my husband all the time. He always takes his Kindle and waits in the car. It gives him good reading time. He's a keeper.

We don't have that problem. ;)
I would rather shop alone or with someone else who quilts also. DH has good taste and I value his opinion, it is just short lived. What are you going to use it for, is his often repeated question. Dont' know yet is my repeated reply.
