Congratulations! Pace yourself so you don't burn out.
Way to go Amy! The room goes wild :-) Congratulations and all the above haha
Go slow, Enjoy working on them and yes, don't undervalue your talent! Sewing is not something people are born with and quilting is another animal.... the hours you put in (I write this down daily), fabric costs, batting, backing - It surprise me when I total this up for anything I make for others - It looks like major expenses - But Made by you (and Made in the USA) still means something to people. yeah Happy Dance, can't wait to see these.
grats on the orders, as everyone else has said pace yourself out and don't take on too much. Don't underprice yourself. supplies are expensive but your time is invaluable .
Go, Amy!!! So happy for you! :icon_bigsmile:
Kudos to you! How exciting.
I'm like you -- I don't feel like I'm good enough to sell, but I just finished my first commission. Actually, I'm probably going to do it for the cost of materials, but it's for a lifelong friend so what the heck. Plus, I'm totally weirded out about receiving payment for it when I see every stinkin' mistake.
I started to set up an Etsy store, but I'm so busy making quilts and giving them away, I can't seem to accumulate any inventory!
Very proud of you, Amy!!! Enjoy the moment, stay focused and if you get overwhelmed, step back, breath and do 10 or 15 minute increments. BUT, definetly enjoy the ride!!!
Be aware that you'll need to increase your prices 7% to account for etsy and PayPal costs (3.2% and 3.4%) off everything you sell.....and don't forget to account for shipping costs. ($8.00-$10.00)
congrats! what is your shop name on etsy? i browse there and will have to look.
How wonderful for you! Congratulations on your firsts. I remember mine. Take your time and have fun with it....good luck!!
