    Default Gadgets galore.

I was at the KC Sewing and Quilting Expo in Overland Park KA last Friday and I saw three gals lined up in a vendor's booth to buy a $39 seam ripper. The vendor offered to demonstrate but I used my will power and declined politely. I was thinking about all the gadgets I had fallen for in years past--and how many of them I never use. Does anyone have a favorite gadget that did work or ones that are still in the package? Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Booklady!

I have some Kay Woods starmaker templates and a book from 20 years ago. They've never been used and the wrappers are turning yellow from age!

I just went to a sewing and quilt exposition here in town last week. I found a nice glue pen, a ceramic marking pen and some Misty Fuse. I couldn't find some of the things I wanted and did pretty well turning my back on the expensive gadgets! Sewing and quilting machines had some good deals for those interested, but everything else was at full price and not any super deals. I actually felt proud of myself when I got home nearly empty handed.

Before I began to use basting spray and was basting my quilts with pins, I loved this gadget. Very simple, inexpensive, well- made and useful.ShopJoya.com - Kwik Klip Quilting Tool for Safety Pins by Paula Jean

    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

I go to those expos to buy thread at great prices! I have also been known to purchase a bit of fabric there from places out of state who have something absolutely beautiful that I can not resist.

I took my husband to an expo with me the first time I went. He bought me the Alto Cutting mat system for a small fortune and some rings you use for fmq, which I don't find easy to do at all. The cutting system I have used and it is pretty slick, but I keep it put away so it's not always at my instant beck and call and does not get used as much as it should.

I recently admitted to having the shape cut ruler for months before I tried it and it is wonderful and my favorite thing ever at this point.

When Tanya did her Night and Day quilt by Eleanor Burns, I jumped on Amazon and bought the book and template. I recently found it in the sewing room. Need to move that one up on the to do list as I just love it!

I bought an Accuquilt Go and some dies and have to admit that I have not used it as much as I thought I would - I did buy it at a quilter's garage sale, so I didn't pay full price, but still.... It is very accurate and I think it is great for applique shapes, but so far, I am not into applique. I do want the drunkard's path die.

I have the shape cut pro and find that very handy to use for strips and squares.

No, but I have several good friends that do. I got to see the quilts they made for the project and they were wonderful.

The Shape Cut Plus and Pro are the handiest gadgets that I've bought (so far). I've thought I'd like an Accuquilt, but I'm not into applique so not sure how much I'd use it.
