Quilt labels have become as creative as quilting itself. Personally, I think a name and the date are important. Who knows, a hundred years from now, someone will see your lovely quilt and wonder who made it and when?
I make most of my quilts for family, so I add a little more mush, like Happy Holidays, Made with Love, etc. There's nothing "corny" about your ornament shape label. When I need a little inspiration for what to write or the shapes of labels, I google quilt labels or search on Pinterest. So many cute ideas! Labels are like your quilt, an extension of your creativity.
I like the ornament shape label.....cute idea. The only thing I would suggest is putting who it's for and who made it.....with the date.
