Finally - FMQ from my hands that looks nice!

I just finished my mug rug, and I finally have FMQ that looks nice! And I am always negative with myself, so thats a real compliment, HAHA. Its also my first time appliqueing with satin stitch, and first time working with rayon thread!! So happy with myself for actually trying new things!

Now for the negative - part of my bipolar is always second guessing myself. The person this is going to said she likes/celebrates Christmas. What I made is a beautiful blue and silver snowflake mug rug. Send or make another? I decorate with snowflakes for Christmas personally, but do other people? Aggghhh - the second guessing is the worst part!!!!! I'm always afraid someone won't like what I give.

Your mug rug sounds perfect. I tend to second guess my choices, too, however I have learned that there are not only zero quilt police on this forum but that there is also zero mug rug police. I'm sure whoever gets your creation will love it and the hard work you put into it. No one can ask for more than your best and you followed the guidelines set for this swap.

Please don't be so hard in yourself. Just enjoy yourself!

Snowflakes and Christmas go together perfectly!

Definitely yes for snowflakes and Christmas and as an added bonus she/he could use through the whole winter season.

Snowflakes sound beautiful - mine is a gingerbread man (not very religious).

As a NY'er, I love snowflakes both in design and falling from the sky. But I have to admit by February, I'm ready for the falling snowflakes to disappear.

I know that your mug rug buddy will love what you made! I really need to get out of the design phase and into construction phase - I am 2nd guessing myself too much too!!! Why are we our own worst critics?

How did you like the satin stitch? The turns are tricky sometimes but it comes out really nice. Can't wait to see it after the swap!

I do the same thing; sometimes thinking so much about it that I am immobile. I have probably changed my mind at least 5 times on each mug rug that I do before I finally just make one. I just hope that eveyone involved in the swaps enjoy whatever is sent to them and appreciate the work that is done. I certainly do. BTW, snowflakes sound very Christmasy and Wintery to me. I'm sure the recipient will love it.

I love to decorate with snowflakes at Christmas! Nice thing about snowflakes is that they can also be used for Jan/Feb. Get a lot more mileage out of the decoration!
