    Default Who knew???

That fabric with Pugs on it could or would be so expensive.

I have a friend who raises pugs, her hubby contacted me about making a couple of pillow cases with pugs. Did an internet search and coming up with an average of 13.00 per yard... yikes...

Anyone have any ideas of where I can find it cheaper?

    Thanks in advance!

$12.99 /yard for novelty prints isn't that far out of line in most places. Sorry.

You could do the main body of the pillowcase in a solid and use the print for the cuff. Still cute, but not as much fabric is needed.

I recommend that you buy just one yard with the pugs and one yard of a coordinating print. That would give you enough for two cases - one would have pugs only on the cuff and the other would have the pug fabric for the body of the case. You would cut 27" for the pillowcase bodies and 9" for the cuffs.

omg yes, IF you find it online also do a search to see if that website has any coupons. If not, email them first IF you are buying several yards they may give you a little discount? never hurts to ask.

I buy a ton of cat and dog fabrics and they are "Novelty" so the price jumps!!! argh... I like the idea of putting the main fabric in a solid, then using less of the cute Pug fabric for the pillow case header?

Maybe someone here knows of Animal print website with better prices?

The second quilt I ever started -- haven't finished it yet -- was a tennis quilt for my daughter. She plays college tennis and I wanted it for her to take on the road because their spring matches are quite cold. Anyway, I ordered several fat quarters for a D9P quilt with tennis balls and racquets on them at $11 each.

I know. It's outrageous, but I was new to quilting. I also didn't understand that the Spoonflower web site (where I landed when I googled tennis fabric) sells custom, digital-printed fabric.

Maybe this is unrelated but Hancocks has a really wonderful flannel that's navy with tan paw prints the size of a sweet tart on it - and some cute dog flannel (not pugs but I don't know my dogs) in tan.
