Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
Hi,
Our local humane society is having a table at a craft fair on December 7 and they are looking for homemade items to sell.
What has been a good seller for you all at craft fairs?
Fabric Boxes?
Placemats (how many in a set?)
Table runners (how long?)
Thanks for any help!

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
I bought place mats at the dollar tree for a buck each, then machine embroidered a christmas tree or other dodi (I made this word up LOL ) in the corner of each
they turned out reallly cute.

I can't answer your question but I just wanted to say that it is very sweet of you to help our furry four legged friends. I hope they raise lots of money.

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
I did a craft fair in October and tablerunners were the hot item then. I did the 10-minute tablerunners in fall and Christmasy fabric and also the zigzag table runners that Jenny did the tutorial on in fall colors. I also sold a bunch of candlemats with jar candles. Since you are doing this for the humane society, maybe a little floor mat in the shape of a dog bone for the doggies dishes. Can't think of a shape for cats dishes (fish?) but maybe just a rectangle or oval with some kitty material.
Good luck

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
I did a craft fair in Nov. and the tablerunners didn't sell. I made those rolled up placemat candy dishes, they sold immediately, plus I got orders for more of them. Totebags sold, maybe using doggie fabric. I didn't have fabric boxes. Little tissue holders were a hot item, because they were inexpensive. And they are so easy to make!

God Bless you Gayle for helping the Animals!!!
People are impulse buyers at the Shelter gift stores since they are shopping to help the Animals -- I hope you have a great supply of Cat/Dog fabric's and the bone fabrics too.
Quick items that can sell for under $10 - Fabric Boxes, Placemats, a simple tote, Table Runners with cat/dog theme. gosh everyone has such great ideas. Wishing you the Best Luck and (((((Hugs)))) from the animals

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
Some home made dog biscuts would be fun. I bought my one dd a cutter that had a recipie. You could put them in a draw string pouch.
Oh and some animal toys with squeakers. I bought mine on Etsy.

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
My girl friend made triangular scarves in animal fabric (for dogs) and her sister sold them along with homemade dog biscuits. They were good sellers.

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
I've only ever done one craft show... and my best seller was Baby blankets. I made a dozen, I sold every one.

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
I made aprons and hotpads the last few years for our local shelter to sell. I don't know what they priced them, but they were all gone by the end of the day. I agree with other posters that you want fairly inexpensive items. Maybe pillowcases and coasters sets, using holiday and cat/dog fabrics?

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
My daughter's dogs come home from the groomer with a scrunchie on their collars, it is just a tube of fabric that they put on the collar. I made one, it was so simple, and you could make them up in holiday fabrics.

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
We made bone shaped pot holders one year. This was for an actual dog show, but we also made a bunch of simple carpenter style aprons with pockets on the front to hold training treats.

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
At our church sale this month, all the snap bags I made sold fast. The tissue holders also sold well. I'm making more of both for the Breakfast with Santa sale in December. Simple and quick stuff, and price them cheap so anyone will be able to buy them.
The snap bags would be great to hold doggie treats or doggie doo bags.
For the humane society sale, I like the idea of the triangle scarves and the collar scrunchies too. I'd put the scrunchie on the leash though, just to make it look snazzy :)

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
We just had a craft fair on Saturday. We sold out of mug rugs (sold them as sets with mugs from Christmas Tree shops) and the "four-square" coasters; did you know you can stick the base of stemware in them? Great selling point. The other things that sold were anything "angel" - tree ornaments, pencil toppers, note cards, you name it. Well, after all, all the tables were from area churches, lol!
One thing that one church sold a gazillion of were pencils topped with felt snowmen, for $1 a pop. What if you glue a dog or cat over the eraser, instead of a snowman? One lady bought 20 of them; she's a teacher and got one for each of her students. Have fun, and I hope you make a LOT of money!

Dog Bone Christmas Stocking! Here's a link to some google images of them. https://www.google.com/search?q=dog+...w=1366&bih=667 They look really simple, and at least in my house, the pets have stockings too.

Re: Which items sell the best at craft fairs?
I know tissue holder was mentioned and there was a nice tut on them where you sewed all around the rectangle. But I thought this one was nice and easy too. That little touch of color is nice.

I am interested in the rolled up placemat candy dishes. Do you know of a link on how to make them?
Thank you!
