    Default Out of commission...

Funny, how are irons have become so important to us. During a fall cleaning tirade, I scorched my living room curtains. Unnoticeable to the naked eye, thankfully, but enough to 'bugger up' my iron.(My back-up is officially dead.) My 3M scouring pad wasn't touching it, so I sent DD to JoAnns for a Rowenta sole plate cleaning kit, on sale for $10.49. (Very highly rated, I might add...)
    Ah, Nope. Out of stock....
AHA! Amazon Prime, me thinks. Genius!
$9.72 with tax and FREE delivery. WOOHOO!
The last two orders with my Amazon Prime were here in LESS THAN 24 HOURS. Crazy, right?
I'll be back in action in no time at all!
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

What would Mr. Clean Magic Eraser do? Cleaned up a mess my DGD did on mine because she thought it was okay to press PLASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Those cleaning kits do work well! They also carry them at Bed Bath and Beyond and you can use a 20% coupon. A dryer sheet also works well for some things. I always keep one on my ironing board.

I never heard of the fabric softener sheet tip. I'll have to try that one. I got some gunk on my iron a few months ago and for some strange reason I thought about my mom teaching me to iron years ago. My mother loved to iron. Believe me, I didn't inherit the "ironing" gene from her! Anyway, I remember my mom used to sprinkle the ironables with water and put in a plastic bag and put in the frig until ironing time. Does anyone else remember that? I digress...my mom always had a box of salt at the ironing board and when the iron would start sticking she would sprinkle salt on the ironing board and move the hot iron around on the salt. It would remove the gunk. I gave it a shot and it sure did work! Now I have my salt shaker at the ironing board. Also a great way to reduce my salt intake!

    Hugs!

I remember that! My grandmother would mix some liquid starch in the water that she used to sprinkle the clothes. One time she stored the leftover mix in a glass milk bottle in the frig. When she couldn't find it the next day, she asked my grandfather about it. He told her that he thought the milk tasted a little different!

I do remember that !! Put a sprinkler top in a pop (soda) bottle and sprinkled away...on clothes that just came in from the clothesline. Does that date us just a bit ?!! LOL

Hope it works for you. I have heard of the salt trick before - it didn't work for me....

I have been debating whether to get amazon prime...i think you just convinced me! I order from them about 10 times a year, so I think it would pay for itself in saved shipping fees.
