Heck yea, Gayle! It's awesome. I probably will do all my Christmas shopping from my kitchen counter, this year. Especially great for hard to find items. I looked all over for a specific trike for GD. Finally thought to look on Amazon. I ordered it at 3pm, and it was at my door by noon the next day! I don't have a Kindle (yet) but my daughter tells me that with Prime, it's like getting Net Flix for free. Free movies, TV shows and books. She's even rented a $200 text book for college for the semester for $50!
It' more than paid for itself.
The beauty of it? The account is actually under my daughter's name, but I am able to load my debit card info, no questions asked. So we actually share the account.
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

Believe me, I didn't inherit the "ironing" gene from her! Anyway, I remember my mom used to sprinkle the ironables with water and put in a plastic bag and put in the frig until ironing time. Does anyone else remember that? I digress...my mom always had a box of salt at the ironing board and when the iron would start sticking she would sprinkle salt on the ironing board and move the hot iron around on the salt. It would remove the gunk. I gave it a shot and it sure did work! Now I have my salt shaker at the ironing board. Also a great way to reduce my salt intake!

I do remember that !! Put a sprinkler top in a pop (soda) bottle and sprinkled away...on clothes that just came in from the clothesline. Does that date us just a bit ?!! LOL

Mom used to keep a yellow plastic bottle in the frig that had holes in the top. I think she mixed starch with the water. This was before the steam iron came along. I guess the cold water/starch helped the process somehow. I learned to iron Dad's hankerchiefs....

I have a collection of the old irons that one put on a wood stove to heat. Boy, am I glad we don't have to use those anymore!

Lightwriter, I like your quote at the bottom of your page..very true.

I am also dating myself...lots of ironing experience in my past and I still iron lots of my clothes. Love cotton and it needs some pressing. That bag of sprinkled clothes in the old frigerator is very much a part of my growing up. Haven't seen one of those old sprinkler heads in years. Will have to look at my mom's for her old one.
