Re: LOVE my binding tool!
That is so awesome!! I am happy you found a tool that works so well for you! :icon_happy:
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
I am new to quilting and I find adding the binding to be a challenge. Thanks for sharing - - I am going to take a look at this tool.
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
That's wonderful. I have very good luck with the binding too, also. Can you post pictures of your quilts?
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
I use the binding tool also.
I just did the first quilt without it, using another of Jenny's tuts. I wanted a 3" binding....worked like a charm.
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
Now that you've got the binding part down you can try using it to make a braid quilt, another good use for it and Jenny has a tutorial for that one too. Have fun with it!
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
I know I just used my binding tool for the first time today...I LOVE IT....
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
I really like my binding tool as well. My one attempt to do binding without it didn't go so well. LOL!
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
I love my binding tool! I find myself sometimes not using it at all because it is teaching me the technique. I still go back to it though if it's been a while since I've put on a binding lol. I'm glad it works for you.
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
Can someone tell me what the binding tool is? I make my binding myself -- cut 2.25" strips and fold in half, wrong sides together. Stitch raw edge to front of quilt and fold over, then handstitch folded edge to back of quilt.
What does a binding tool do for you?
Re: LOVE my binding tool!
Happy for you. I learned the double-mitered binding method a while ago and love it. Binding just frames the quilt.

It's a tool that helps you put the two edges of the binding together to finish the quilt.
I love my binding tool, but it's different from the one sold here. I got it at a quilting show this year. Mine is shaped like a triangle and is so easy to use. It works for any size binding too, I like that. I've been thinking about making my binding 2.25" instead of 2.5" like I usually make.

Re: LOVE my binding tool!
My binding tool is gathering dust since I watched this video of Jenny's a couple of months ago. My binding joins have never been better.

Re: LOVE my binding tool!
I have the binding tool, but I much prefer the method Jenny teaches in the Ultimate Binding Tutorial. It works every time.
But I am glad you have found the binding tool to be helpful... Having a good, neat way to join the ends of the binding is the important thing....no matter what that way is. Mine used to always turn out to be lumpy. Now you can't tell where the ends meet, and I am thrilled.
