HELP!! I need ideas

I need ideas! I am taking belly dancing classes and the school is looking for items/services that people can provide in order to help raise money for the SEEDs program (Self-esteem,Empowerment and Education through Dance). This program promotes self-discovery and self-actualization, provides mentorship at a very high level and prepares young women for Independence.

I was considering offering a quilt for them to auction off, but am needing ideas on creating a "belly dancing" quilt. I cannot find anything online and was hoping that you all might be able to help me out.

I think I would just use some Indian inspired fabrics, like Batiks or things like that and find a simple block to do for the quilt with those fabrics.

Hi Jenny, I've made a lot of belly dance items (coin belts, outfits), and have some fun Fabric with beading on it I could send. I gave Jean a piece during the retreat as she makes costumes as well - But I'm thinking if you used something beaded for a large center then other blocks around that would be good enough? I've also got some of those tin coins that if sewn to a center square for Decoration may look pretty cool? PM and let me know if you want a nice chuck of the fabric and I'll pop some coins in there too - Won't be very washable but maybe a Wall hanging?

You could do an artsy type similar to this picture - it should be very easy to accomplish (says the lady who marches to a different pair of scissors):

Perhaps you could do some blocks in appliqué, if you google belly dance related sites, you'll find some designs which could be simply done up with embellishments...such as the pyramids, camels, outlines of belly dancers wearing harem pants...you might not need to have a detailed designs but any sequins, coins, ribbons whatever could be used to embellish them...you could add bits of different fabrics such as netting, velvet, whatever to add texture...just a thought...I like the idea of batiks too...
